7:05 a.m.on SW: Time to Airport?

We've got the first flight out at 7:05 a.m. on Southwest. Can we fudge a half hour and get to the airport at 5:30 a.m. and still hope to get an "A" boarding pass? Or should we stick with the two hour advice and make it here at (groan) 5:00 a.m.? I'm thinking security won't be quite so backed up at that time in the morning, but I could be wrong. What would you do?

I would check in online. If your reservations are not separated, I would call Southwest and ask them to separate them so you can check in online.

Can I separate reservations with my kids?

As long as they were made online, yes. The only time you cannot check in online with kids is if you purchased youth fares.
Any fare purchased online is considered an adult fare.
You would have had to call and asked for a youth fare for the children.

One more question: once I separate the reservation, if the fare drops can I still cancel and rebook on the lower fare with four different numbers? I doubt this will happen, but I can wait to separate until closer in if it could possibly save us money.

If the fare drops, yes, you can rebook at the lower fare with separated reservations.

as far as airport check in goes... find out when your airport opens? ours does not open 'til 6am, so there's no sense getting there earlier...
