I saw it and grabbed it, but now I'm thinking "how i am going to get my 2 young kids out of bed and over to the Contemporary by 7am???"
We are staying at Poly but its still feels impossible.
Its for Nov 22 - will most likely cancel so PM if you want it and we can coordinate.

Depends, are morning people? Are the kids? How do they do at home getting up and moving?

For me and DH (no kids) it would be impossible...lol, but each family is different.

I booked a 7am seating at Chef Mickey's for our last day and I am so glad I did since JB has now changed our flight time (leaving 55 mins earlier). I am staying at CR so no problem with getting there. Not so sure about getting there from the Poly, I think the resort monorail does not start to run until 7am??? :confused3

If the monorail doesn't run that early, ask when the buses start running. There are buses that start early due to early dining reservation, but the concierge at your resort should be able to answer better than me.

We always get a reservation at CM somewhere between 7 and 7:15 am. Never had a problem with transportation. In fact, except for once we've always been dropped directly at the Contemporary.

My main reason for getting an ADR that early is to trick my family into making rope drop. :rotfl2:

The problem is the OP is staying at the Polynesian and they don't run Buses to the Magic Kingdom, so it won't be like coming from the other resorts and the chance of that Bus stopping at the Contemporary after it leaves the Magic Kingdom.

In Feb. 09 we had a 7am at Chef Mickey's and took the bus to MK we were about to get off when the bus driver asked where we need to be and we informed him of our ADR at Chef Mickey's. He told us to stay put and he drove us to the Contemporary Resort we thank him so much for the ride and he told us if we were late to our ADR tell the CM it was all the bus drivers fault.
Of course we arrived and there was no line and we were seated in about five minutes...

They DO run busses to the different resorts from other resorts due to early ADRs. We stayed in the Contemporary and were waiting for a bus to AK for the Wild Africa Trek before park opening. We saw several busses drop off guests to the CR and the bus drivers told us that they were doing so for the early morning ADRs. But I think they were arranged through the Consierge, that's why I suggested to the OP to ask how to make that happen. Disney is aware of this issue

We have done this MANY times with 2 young kids!

We are not morning people ... but once in awhile on a rare occasion, it's fun to get up early for a special treat. Especially (maybe only :lmao:) at Disney! :rotfl:

I say go for it! :thumbsup2

Chances are the Buses you saw were scheduled to drive guests to the Magic Kingdom, however they were able to also drop some other guests off at the Contemporary for their ADR's.

It's well known that there is no resort to resort Buses, so if a guest was staying at the Boardwalk Inn and had an ADR at Chef Mickey's but wanted to use the Disney Transport Buses this is what they are advised to do. Take the Bus to the Magic Kingdom and once they arrive there they can then use the walkway or Resort Monorail that goes to the Contemporary. However if the guests ask the Bus drivers to drop them off at the Contemporary, so I am guessing that's what happened when you described those guests coming off the Buses at the Contemporary for their ADR's.

That's why I mentioned that the Polynesian doesn't offer direct Buses to the Magic Kingdom, so something like that can't happen.

Definitely book it!!! The line at CM can get pretty ugly if you're not in before 7:30a. We had a 7:05a at CM back in August for our older child's 5th bday breakfast and getting everyone there in time was no problem. Granted, we were staying at the Contemporary, so that made things a bit easier- but still...we were there with time to spare.

We stayed at Old Key West in September and asked about transportation for early morning breakfast reservations --

They said that there are "breakfast busses" (they called it something else, but I can't remember exactly what right now) that will take you to where you need to go ... if your dining reservation is prior to 'normal bus schedule'.

Or it might have been a shuttle van. Just ask at the desk of your resort for more info. We ended up canceling the early morning reservation for this trip ... so we didn't actually use the service. But they did mention that such a service is available.

We aren't what you would call morning people by any means, but on vacation we ALWAYS take the earliest ADRs in the AM. We never sleep in on vacation. We set the alarm early and get up, the kids just follow suit.

We've done 7am twice at chef mickey and would do again no hesitation.

Food is fresh and place isn't crowded.

I'd check with conceierge the night before. Worst case scenario is you take a cab that will run you less then $10. You are going around the block basically.

Personally I wouldn't want that breakfast with young kids. What are you doing the night before and when in your trip is it?

Depends on a few things......

Are your kids begging to go to Chef Mickeys or is this something you are doing more for you and for pic opportunities?

What day of your trip will this be -- toward the beginning or toward the end?

And, probably most important: What are you doing the night before?

And, do you have anything else planned that day for which you will need your family well rested?

Have fun on your trip!

Yeah, I really think it depends on a few things:
-How important is Chef Mickey's to your kids
-The way your family gets ready, back it up, how early does that mean you'll need to be out of bed?
-What are you doing the night before?
-What will you be doing the rest of that day?
For me, nothing is worth having my family exhausted to start a day at Disney, so I'd really look at how early you'd have to beep, if you'll have had a late night, what you want to do the rest of the day, etc.
