We are currently booked in a mid-ship verandah room on the 6th floor of the Dream. The lifeboats are right under our room. Is this a big distraction while sitting out on your verandah? It is really hard to tell from the pictures. Should I move up to a higher floor? Thanks.

Besides the "lifeboat view" I love our room assignment & the interior of the room looks perfect!:goodvibes

Thanks DesertGal! I was hoping it wouldn't be a big deal, thanks for confirming.

We always book this location and also didn't notice on the Dream last Summer. Keep the room. I will be in last location on the Fantasy in November! Have a great cruise!

We have this location in January, glad it shouldn't be an issue. Didn't realize it when we booked it.

Just sailed deck 6 cat 4 in Sept. You don't even notice unless you look down and still no distractions. Have a great cruise:wave2:

Not at all! I was nervous and I really wish I hadn't fretted over it after someone mentioned it. The only time I noticed was when a crew member in a yellow jumped popped out of the top of the lifeboat under our room to re-paint the balcony. It scared the crap out of me when we were eating breakfast after pulling into castway cay, lol. Just be careful not to go out there if you're indecent while in port :rotfl:

WE had stateroom 6568 in May, had no problem....... Have rooms 6560 and 6562 booked next Sept. 2013..................enjoy your cruise.

We just had 6562 on the Wonder and I loved the location. The lifeboats are pulled into deck 5 so they really don't obstruct your view of the water below. There's also a rail just above the verandah so it's not like you look up and see people above you looking down at you. You're right next to the midship elevators and one deck up from the kids club/lab.

There's also the three deck mini atrium with mural across from 6564.

We loved this stateroom.

We sailed in Aug and stayed in 6114. We didn't even notice the lifeboats unless you walked to the railing and looked down. Loved the room.

Thank you so much! Only 9 more months 'til I get to sit on my verandah:coffee: Can't wait!

On the Wonder & Magic the sides of the ship are shaped like this ||. On the Dream & the Fantasy the sides of the ship are like this )(. On the Wonder & Magic the lifeboats are tucked into deck 5. On the Dream & Fantasy they are hanging from the side of the ship that you can see the whole top of the lifeboat if you are standing up on your balcony on deck 6 (we were in cabin 6578 on both the Dream & the Fantasy and will be in 6568 on the Fantasy in November 2013.) If you are sitting down you may just barely see the top outer edge, but nothing to take away the view. I actually was fascinated to be able to see them up so close.

It wouldn't matter if you are on a higher deck on the Dream or Fantasy if you are standing up, only if you are sitting on your veranda since you will be able to see the lifeboats from most of the upper decks looking down over the railing. On deck 6 when sitting, you will just barely see them depending on how far back you sit. On deck 7 you probably wouldn't see them at all if you are sitting down.

We had been on the Magic & Wonder on previous cruises and I have a problem with heights. When I looked down over the railing I felt like I could just fall overboard into the ocean & would get tight in my chest. On the Dream & Fantasy, with the lifeboats out below, I felt much safer.
