Our Golden's name is Sawyer but we should have named him Goofy. He is such a lovable funny dog. I love 3gr8kids suggestion of "Molsen" - too cute! Jack is always a great name for a Golden. Good luck and post a pic!

Our 1st Lab was named Buddy and we have friends whose golden is named Jake. When all else fails, get a baby names book out!

Seems as if there are sooooo many Jakes and Buddys. I like Jack the best of your choices. I also like Harry (or Hairy?? ) and Henry. I also like 2 syllable names, hence Georgia, Dizzy, and Rookie (he came pre-named when we rescued him).

I think the name Kipling is the coolest name for a dog. We just got a dog from the shelter too, but she is a girl, so Kipling wouldn't work. We went for Adah from The Poisonwood Bible (great book..from the Oprah book club)..but whenever we get a male dog, Kipling is the winner. Congrats on your new addition!

I saw an animal planet show once and a dog expert said dogs tend to respond best to 2 syllable names that end in the long "e" sound.

How about Harry?? Although with a Golden you might as well spell it "Hairy"

We're going to name our next dog Hoover since they seem to eat any little crumbs they find!

Another funny name - my sister named her golden "Asker". When people would say "What's her name" my sister would respond "Asker" - you would be surprised how many people would then bend over and ask the dog what it's name was!!!! (It would work for a him too, "Askim")

I like Jack. My dog's name is Teddy...he's an English Springer Spaniel. Friends had a black lab named Baxter.
