I need suggestions please ! We will be visiting the World in 2008 to celebrate my mums 65th birthday. There will be 7 of us, DM, DH, DS(11), DS(7), DBrother (38), DNeice (6) and myself. My brother and, to some extent my husband, are plain eaters. Very picky. I want to book a restaurant that is special enough to celebrate a very special birthday, but something that will accomodate DB and DH. Does anyone have any thoughts for me ?

What kind of food does mom like since it is her birthday? I would book a place based on my mom's tastes and let the picky eaters pick away if they do not like it.

A special place would be any of WDW signature restaurants- Jiko, CA Grill, Yachtsmans, Artist Pointe, Flying Fish, etc.

What a great trip you have planned!

Are you looking for a signature dining place or character dining or something in between? My parents are not into fancy dining (Dad, gotta love him:rolleyes1 ), but like so many of the other places.

If you have picky eaters, signature restaurants are still an option, just tell your server to leave off sauces or whatever they may not like.

Here is a link to the DISboards menus.

Take a look at some of the places. Some other things to consider - do you want to eat in a park? Resort? DTD?

Le Cellier is a great place to get a filet, AP has fantastic buffalo and salmon, CG is an experience.

Then there is Narcoossee's or Citrico's.

Raglan Road DTD, upscale pub type place.

There is also the Hoop Dee Doo Review at the campgrounds. This can be a very fun show for the whole family.

Enough options yet?:rotfl2: I can keep going.....

Let us know how the planning goes:hippie:

:goodvibes I knew I could count on the disboards for help ! Many thanks for all your suggestions, Pumbaa and CrazyCatLady. We have Chef Mickeys planned (DS7s choice), Mickeys Backyard BBQ (for DS11) and a still-to-be-chosen princess meal for DN. Wether we eat in the parks, resorts or DTD really doesn't matter, I was just looking for a special experience. I like your idea, CrazyCatLady, and I think choosing a restaurant based on what DM would like is best. The picky eaters will have to cope ! Pumbaa - Narcoossees and Le Cellier look fantastic - they look great and their menus seem to have something that would appeal to everyone. I absolutely LOVE planning for a Disney trip and I am so glad Mum decided this was where she wanted to celebrate her special day !
Thanks again ! :woohoo:

I think the best thing to decide is how she wants to dine....upscale or more down to earth then factor in what she likes for food choices and go from there..

I do love Citrico's which is one of their signature restaurants but I also love Spoodles and Raglan Road. We ate on our past visit at Bistro de Paris and had a wonderful meal, upscale but not overdone. There are so many choices on property depending on what you want to eat and how fancy you want to get, you cannot go wrong. Also, this past visit, we went to Artist Pointe which we had not done for many years, and had a wonderful meal.

If you want an all you can eat All American Clambake, then there is Cape May at the Beach Club. It all depends on what you are looking for and how she wants to celebrate her birthday...
