$630 for two. $315 to split for airfare, hotel, and a car. 4 days of magic in the 3rd week of january. The parks are almost empty. My wife is jealous and i am lying to my 1 and 5yr old. I feel horrible, but we went for 7 days in may and it was all about my two girls(except for my bday at star wars weekend). I missed all three mountains and we went to magic kingdom 3 times. Im a good dad for that keeping there interests in front of mine. But feel crappy about this mini boost of mickey and friends. Should I feel as guilty as i do????

You're not going with your wife????

If your wife is truly OK with you going without her or the kids...go for it. But TRULY is the operative word there. Make sure she isn't just telling you what you want to hear.

You have to trust that what your wife is telling you the truth...if she says go then GO! I'm going on the Dis Unplugged ABD trip in February (hey roomie Mikelan6) without my DH. He told me go, enjoy, have a great time. So I'm going and leaving him home along with our 15 year old daughter.

Go go go!!!
If the people that are involved say it's okay just go ahead.

About not telling the kids...
If you were going to some other place you wouldn't felt guilty at all so just enjoy yourself!!

I am doing the same thing at the beginning of Feb. My wife isn't a big Disney fan :confused3 and right now we don't have the funds to do a big family trip (we're going to do that in February 2012 after we can save up.) I am saving money by staying with friends (something that isn't feasible with 2 4y old boys) and going to spend 2-3 days in the parks doing what I want to do - at the pace I want to do it!

Yes, I feel guilty for going (for leaving my wife with the kids alone for 4 days and for not taking the kids) but I know that I will come back rejuvenated and a much happier mom. Plus, I'll be ready to start planning our 2012 trip!

Have fun!

This.

Hope you guys know eachother very VERY well and she's not just being polite. I know I'd be crushed if I had to miss a trip. But then again, I'd definitely say what was on my mind :rotfl:

Maybe you could make it up to them with a bounceback trip later on if your guilt's getting the better of you? Or just make sure to make the next trip all about the family :wizard:

I just wonder, because the OP poster says:
My wife is jealous and i am lying to my 1 and 5yr old.
Unless he's just joking, it doesn't sound like everyone was happily on board with this trip.

Sayhello
