Hoping to hear some opinions from those who have stayed in 6120 or real close to it. Just found out we've been assigned this room. I see it is directly across from the elevators which could be great for us since my DH is a medically retired Veteran with both legs in bad shape but walking on his own. I'm just a bit concerned about the noise level being so close to the elevators. Any thoughts? Thanks!

I've stayed in 6616, same location as 6120, but other side of the ship. There was ABSOLUTELY no noise being close to the elevators. The Aft elevators are the least used elevators, and the isn't a loud "ding" when the elevators get to the floor. I could barely hear it waiting for the elevators, let alone being able to hear it in the room. You'll LOVE being so close to the elevators!!!

Thanks for posting Lori. I've read some past comments and it looks like most have been satisfied with there rom close to the elevators. We'll just keep our fingers crossed!;)

One of the things I look for in a stateroom is how close it is to the elevators. I prefer to be as close as possible. I've never had a problem with noise. Probably the closest I've been is 7106, and never had a problem with noise from the elevators. I've found that it's more convenient to be closer to them.

I agree with Senor. If/when we cruise again, I will try to get the same room we had before, which was the first one after the aft elevators on Deck 5. I also ADORED Deck 5. It was soooooo easy with the Kids Club being right there, and everything else basically being just a couple of flights of stairs up or down. We very rarely used the elevators. (I am ashamed to say that I pretended that this was my exercise on the trip...:D )

mcnuss,

I've stopped pretending. That is my exercise while on board. Well, that and hoisting 16 oz. glasses of beer.....

I have to agree as well, stairs are the exercise of choice on the ship.

Thanks everyone, I feel better now. I'm also very glad to hear others recommendations for exercise....now I can return and tell everyone I participated in alot of "Hoisting" and I'm sure the muscles in my arms will appreciate the workout! ;) Does this "hoisting" exercise count whe you lift alot of ice cream at home too?:p Thanks again, I can't wait!
