Any chance they might extend the current end date for the 60th Anniversary? My wife and I are contemplating going for our anniversary in September, but it would literally be the week after the (currently scheduled) end of the promotion.

If not, we may wait and think about going closer to Christmas, or even switch over to WDW instead.

I highly, highly, highly doubt it. If anything it will start to wind down before the official end, as that's what's happened with other year long or longer promotions.

I agree with SMD that it's unlikely they'll extend the 60th Anniversary Celebration, but it does depend a little on what you're interested in. The end of the 60th Celebration will likely mean they'll remove the decorations from around the parks and resort. The merchandise and souvie items (e.g., popcorn buckets) will probably already be winding down before then. I also think the specialty food items will no longer be made after the Celebration ends.

On the other hand, I do expect Paint the Night, Disneyland Forever, and WoC: Celebrate to last beyond the official end of the Celebration. I think there is a good chance that the entertainment offerings will go back to the historic pattern (e.g., fireworks only on weekends), and that they may bring back the seasonal entertainment (e.g., Believe in Holiday Magic fireworks during Christmas) after the Celebration ends. So in that way, some of the offerings that debuted for the 60th will remain beyond the end of the Celebration. I don't know what will happen with the new musical sets that groups like the Dapper Dans, Five & Dime, etc. debuted, but my guess is they'll continue to be preformed.

All you'll really be missing is the decor. The parade, fireworks, etc I would imagine will remain. The 50th fireworks stayed until the 60th.

Thanks, everyone. I really want to see the projection show they do on Main Street, so I'm kind of torn which we should go with. My birthday is in December, and I've always wanted to go during the holidays, too, but I don't like crowds. I guess I have some thinking to do.

I'm curious to see what they do this year for the holidays. Last year, they didn't present Believe In Holiday Magic fireworks; they presented Disneyland Forever instead (the new fireworks show with the projections). So for the 2016 holiday season, it'll be interesting to see if they present Disneyland Forever or Believe in Holiday Magic or some combination.

I think it would be cool if they "plused" Holiday Magic, to incorporate the new projection technology.
