Does anyone know when the 60th anniversary is ending? We are taking a trip in September and want to know if it will still be going on.
Thanks

I was hoping there would be an updated version of the ending date, even if it is still Sept 5, 2016. Since the last official news seems to still be from Sept 2015.

Yet the Diamond Days daily sweepstake drawings go until Sept 9, 2016. Seems odd to say the Diamond Celebration ends on the 5th if they keep doing the sweepstakes for it until the 9th.

Mostly I want to know if the Paint the Night Parade will be going beyond the 5th.

I think there is a 99 percent chance that PTN will continue for a few years after the anniversary. They put so much into getting it started, I can't believe they'd only run it for a year and a half. Seems like anything they really invested in sticks around for a while.

They'll probably take down a lot of Diamond decorations around the parks and on the Castle. But I can't see PTN going away. The fireworks and WOC:Celebrate may need some tweaking with the "60 years ago..." lines.

I think the Diamond Days Sweepstakes is running through Friday, September 9th so that the contest will not have an abbreviated week at the end. The contests started on a Friday and the "week" goes from 7:00 am on a Friday to 6:59 am the next Friday, so if they ended it with the rest of the celebration, the last week would be shortened. Historically, the summer season has ended with Labor Day, so it makes sense to end the official Celebration at that point.

As others have said, it's highly unlikely they'll stop presenting Disneyland Forever or Paint the Night when the celebration ends. I think it's possible they may go to a reduced presentation schedule (e.g., fireworks only on weekends), but they've invested to much into the shows to only present them for a year and half. I think of it this way, Soundsational debuted in 2011 and Pixar Play Parade debuted in 2008 and both are still being presented. Remember...Dreams Come True fireworks debuted for the 50th Anniversary and was presented for almost a decade. So if the past is any indicator, the 60th anniversary shows will be around for quite a while.

We are going to be there September 12-16th. Do you think the park will look under construction while they remove all the 60th stuff that week? Or do you think they can remove it all over the weekend?

I know tons of the park is already walled off but I was hoping the castle will be back to normal. We visited last summer so we got to see the 60th decorations in full glory already so we're okay with missing it this time.
