Hey Michelle - I go to a ladies only gym and they have private showers there too. We don't get many naked ladies, but on Friday there was one lady and I thought of you :earseek: My body is in no shape to be walking around naked at home let alone the gym :rolleyes:

Keep it up with the stair climber machine. I started doing 15 minutes at the lowest setting and am up to 40 minutes now. It definitely does give your heart a good workout and it's working that area that I need most (buns & thighs) I alternate between that and the elliptical machine to keep my workouts new.

Sorry about you not losing, but like you said, it's probably because of the exercising. Losing the inches is telling you that your still doing something right. I need to measure myself on Tuesday and I know I've lost something in the way of inches. Keep up the great work darling. The fact that your going to the gym is great and pretty soon we'll be posing for our new hot DIS calendar :earboy2:

How's the back doing with all the working out??
 
Hi Michelle,

When I went to Bally's in college, I avoided the locker room for that very reason. I only went there when I had to use the restroom and I tried to get out as soon as possible. :earseek:

I hope you start feeling better soon. I know when I don't get a good night's sleep, I have a hard time getting anything done.

Did you see Joel's message this morning? It was such a good one!!! He is such an encouraging pastor!

I am trying to get this journaling thing down and just wnated to come by your place and say hi!!

I know how you are feeling with the lack of weight loss. I have decided that I am not going to get all upset about not having a weight loss tomorrow. Aside from the planned cheat day...I know that my eating has been great. Of course my exercise habbits have gone for non exsistant to training for the 1/2 marathon...so I am sure I must be building some muscle. You must too!! Take your 1/2" loss on the hips and rejoice!! Oh boy - I can't get the stairmaster thing going for myself. I always feel like I am making my bum bigger instead of smaller! Good for you though, for trying it! Now you have to give the elliptical another try. ;) What a great workout routine you are developing!

Congrats on your loss of inches. Your body is shrinking down to a new size and soon the WHOOSH fairy will be back to take more pounds away! You are doing GREAT, Michelle!!! :cool1:

I love reading the Attack of the Nakies story. I always kind of feel awkward about that myself. If I do have to change out in the open, I always do it so fast that I don't think anybody would see me.

I used to do the stairmaster all the time, and you do get a really good workout for your butt and legs. Lately I've been doing the elliptical. It seems a little easier on the knees. I'm not even sure if our gym has stairmasters anymore. I'll have to take a look.

My son (4 1/2) does the same thing. He keeps wanting to go back and see it again. I personally like the naked bottoms in geetey's post--now that's a smilie I've not seen, on the computer anyway.

I swear it isn't that bad! You just have to get over that hump and suddenly it becomes very easy. I wish I could join you at the gym so we could try it together. Okay - I want to see these nakies too. :eek: LOL!

Oh, I don't think that I could go in a communal shower. Yuck!

Great job on the stairmaster. I agree with Terry, after the first 5 minutes on an elliptical, it does get much easier.

Sorry it's taken me so long to visit your journal. I'm so proud of you to be sticking with the gym, in light of all the nakedness :earboy2: I agree with Terry about sticking with the elliptical machine. I remember when I first started that, I was dying after 5 minutes, but I worked my way up and I can do 45 easily now (okay, maybe not "easily", but it's gotten better ;) ) I have been trying to do the stairclimber machine more because it works on those "problem" areas for me (butt & thighs).

Keep up the great work!!!

I was at the Y today. A woman apparently went to the shower with just her towel. The towel wasn't large enough to cover her. Well, apparantly, she forgot her locker combination. She was stuck naked until I came in. I went to the desk, and explained the situation. A female worker came in with bolt cutters, but she wasn't strong enough, so this woman has to hide in a bathroom stall while one of the guys comes in and cuts her lock. Moral of the story: Remember you locker comb, and if you can't have a towel big enough to cover your bum.

How embarrassing to have to wait for someone to come and rescue you. I always carried my duffle bag with me into the shower area so I could dress and underdress right there! (There was a small privacy area for each individual shower.)
