Yay we've hit the magical 60 days mark :cool1:

(Interesting that Friday doesn't show Hoop Dee Do reservation)

So my question is - how many folks are actually doing the FP+'s this far out?

I'm by far the big Disney pre-planner in the family (going with DW, DD and DD's friend - both are 15) so while they are all excited - it's tough to get them to think this far out about what they want to do when we get there. If we wait until closer, are there any FP+'s that we may not be able to get? I'm guessing it shouldn't be an issue, but now that non-resort guests can start at the 30 day mark, I was wondering if it may become an issue.

Any consensus?

I'm a newbie and we just hit the 60 day mark too and I did our fast passes. I have nothing to go on, so I'm just trying to make sure we fit in things.LOL

My 60 day isn't for awhile, but my plan is to just make FP+ reservations for those VERY popular rides we want like..

TSM - I will make a FP+ for the day we have early breakfast at H&V. Hopes are we can ride TSM standby right after breakfast then use FP+ for after that. Then hopefully we can book another FP+ after we use first one for later that day.

Dwarves Mine...I'm assuming this will be a VERY popular ride when it opens and of course we would like to try it (going in Aug). So I will make advance FP+ for this ride on our MK days.

You can always change your FP+ choices over the 60 day window...I found it easier last year to plan what I could before getting into the park as sometimes with sun glare and activities and such it's harder or more of a pain to change it on your phone in the park. Though I did find a good time to change / make FP+ in the park is while riding around on railroad.

Since we like to park hop and our touring style has become more casual the more times we've been there it can be hard to pinpoint days and times we will be in parks so far in advance..so a few advance FP+ selections for those "MUST DO" rides and from what I've read so far on boards it seems you can still make good FP+ selections the night before or early morning the day of.

I just booked my FP+ 2 days ago for my trip in late April and got everything that I wanted, when I wanted it. In January we booked day before or morning of, same result (lighter crowds).

When traveling during peak times, I would book early. If not, I wouldn't sweat it.

I booked all of our FP+ reservations for our must do rides. With the tie ring system we alternated our first choice for fast passes, eg will do test track at rope drop and a FP+ for soaring one day then do the opposite on our second EPCOT visit. It was easy to book the passes. I am looking forward to seeing the system in action.

If you already have a high level touring plan in place (i.e. which parks on which days), then I would book at your 60 days with your best guess of times and then just tweak the timing as you get closer. That's my plan for when I get to 60 days.

DH and I have been to the World 4 times in the past 3 years, with a May trip, a June trip, and possibly an October anniversary trip coming up! Doing the FP+ at 60 days made sense to us. We know what our must dos are and we know what we don't mind waiting for. I love certain waiting ques so don't mind waiting for certain rides. Just makes it easier for us to plan knowing we have certain FP for our favorite rides. Happy planning!

on the morning of our 60 day mark I was almost done making our FP+ arrangements when I got the Disney e-mail telling me I could start making them LOL

Since then I've made one change (had 2 Anna and Elsa FP days - dropped one). Left everything else alone.

Now I'd love to make FP for the mine ride and for the new Fantasy parade but I can't do either of those yet.

I have also heard that they only release a certain amount @ the 60 day mark then periodically release more... not sure if its true but seems logical

I hit my 60 day mark yesterday, and got up at 5 a.m. to get my fastpasses done before work! I have 2 DS that don't make it much past lunchtime before they want to leave the park and go back to the hotel to swim. I got 2 fastpasses for each morning (the things they want to do most), and 1 right after lunch. The afternoon pastpass is something that we don't need a fastpass for at ropedrop (like POTC), but it is good to have a fastpass for in the afternoon when it gets more crowded. 59 more days until I am in my happy place!!!!!:goodvibes:goodvibes

When they get older and want to spend most of the day in the parks, I would make all 3 fastpasses for the afternoon when it gets more crowded. I think everyone's fastpass strategy is different, depending how they like to tour the parks.

My window just opened on Tuesday. I booked all of my fastpasses at midnight (well, 11pm CST). It took me almost an hour and a half and by the time it was over I was pretty frustrated. I guess I was disappointed at not being able to choose the exact time I needed (they only give you certain windows). Didn't like the tiering either. If we werent going to be at Epcot for more than 1 day I would be pretty ticked at not being able to get both Soarin and Test Track. Since Tuesday, I have figured out how to go in and tweak the times, so it is somewhat better but not great. Good luck.

I know I wish they would give a 5th option basically you can pick your own times (similar to the way you can when you select change a time or whatever its called). That would make me happier....it is a hassle to pick one group of times and then crawl in to alter them. Although I must admit they have made it easier this time round (we've done FP + previously in Nov and in Jan both times booking in advance - since those trips they've tweaked the system so it is easier to change your times).

I just booked mine last night at midnight:) It took me about 1 1/2 hours too. Once I finally got the hang of it, it was pretty simple:thumbsup2

I would at least book the more popular headliner rides and fill in the rest as your time gets closer.

I did ours on day 59....
got everything we wanted, and will hit rope drop every day. We made all of ours for late afternoon evenings for our hop park, except in epcot, which we will only be in during the AM hours. In that case we chose TT, and will hit soarin at RD
As far as your hoop de doo reservation goes, you can link it to MDE with your confirmation number if you havent already..
Im finding that when i check every day on different platforms, certain things will show up and others wont depending on the day and the platform (PC ipad iphone)
I have heard tell that people can still get everything with the exception of Anna and Elsa the night before they go to a park. Im not willing to take that risk!

We did ours at the 60 day mark. I already knew which park for which days (have lots of ADRs so I kind of had to, though I switched 2 days and all the ADRs for those without a problem later). About a week before we decided what we wanted to get FP+ for by looking at Josh's recommendations on Easy WDW and our own personal opinions on what we wanted to get them for. I didn't get on late at night or super early, just at some point that day. Had no trouble getting what I wanted (though this was before the A&E ones came out) and have since tweaked them a good bit, including adding A&E and MSEP. I haven't ever been able to not get one I wanted at a time I wanted, even with moving things around now just 16 days before our trip. The vast majority of experiences will be this way, with the exception of A&E and maybe the Mine Train when it opens. But it certainly doesn't hurt to go ahead and make the choices, you aren't really locked in and they are pretty easy to change if you decide to change it up.

I did mine at 11 pm CST the day before my 60 days. I pretty much already knew which parks were were going to be in and which rides were our "must rides." The only thing I altered on our 60 days was our A&E FP.

Thank you all for your input. Was able to get some input from the troops and I think we'll be able to knock out a rough plan over the weekend. This trip has a couple of firsts that throw a bit of a wrinkle, 1) we're taking my DD's friend ( and they're teenagers!) and 2) we have bought the Water Parks, Fun & More add-on. But hey, it's a vacation in WDW...it's ALL GOOD!

My window doesn't open up until May 20th, but I plan on staying up late that night so I can book at midnight. I already warned my boss that I was going to be tired the next day lol. I'm REALLY hoping to get a fast pass to meet Elsa and Anna because DD wants to meet them
