60 days out and ...

Definitely keep trying! I just booked a trip two days ago for August. While I wasn't able to get SDD, FoP was available on multiple days, and that was 35 days out.

So at 60+2. That's not surprising. Seems like FoP is reliably available 60+4ish. I got Slinky for Aug at 60+3.

I've sometimes gotten earlier ones for FoP by refreshing and trying again.

Not uncommon. Keep looking.

I made my FP+ for our 9/3 - 9/8 trip, was able to get FoP on 2 different days easily and Slinky Dog Dash on the 6th.

Keep trying, you'll get them. I was lucky enough to get Slinky at 60 +4 but was unable to secure FOP until 60 +6. At like day 35ish they opened a TON of FPs and I was able to get FOP for days 60 and 60 +1 and at great times. Watch the boards, thats how I found out.

I haven’t had an on-site stay yet since when SDD opened (but got an AS2 for myself at 30) however I’ve gotten FOP twice at 60+3 the first time was Wine and Dine weekend only 6pm and later when I booked but a few weeks later they added more and I easily was able to modify it to 1130am.... second time was dark side weekend and it was the 20th anniversary of DAK that day and I easily booked one for noon but due to weather changing our ADRs at Disney Springs last minute we were able to change it day of to later

I'm confused; what do you mean by 60 +4 and 60+ 6.

Since you can book all of your fastpasses at 60 days from your first day, it's usually easier to get the harder FPs towards the end of your trip, when less people have had the chance to book those days. 60+4 would be 4 days after your 1st trip day, 60+6 would be the 6th, etc. The further out you go into your trip, the easier FPs like SDD and FOP are to get.

They mean if day 1 is your vacation is day 60, 60+4 is essentially the “fifth” day of your vacation. The further out you go from your arrival date, the easier it (allegedly) gets to secure a hard to get fp

is there a way to check for FP availability without actually changing what I currently have? For instance, can I check for FP availability at MK if I currently have 3 scheduled for AK?

Yes. The FP FAQ ADDENDUM Sticky has all the steps.

no Slinky Dog FP or Flight of Passage disappointing

Same situation. I made sure to sign on at 7 am on day 60 to make Fastpass for my vacation from 9/3-9/8. I checked for Slinky Dog Dash (only for 2 guests) for the last day of the vacation and every other day, but nothing was available. I was not looking for FOP, so that was not an issue. I will continue to check for a Fastpass for Slinky Dog, but I am not too hopeful that I will be able to secure a FastPass -- will have to do the standby line. I am disappointed that Hollywood Studios does not have an AM or PM Extra Magic Hour during my six days of vacation.

I would keep an eye on the park calendar. Pure speculation of course, but it sort of seems HS is ripe to add some more EMHs than what is on the calendar now.
