60 days for ADRs insufficient

I didn't go through the whole thread, so sorry if someone mentioned Kona already. Still on the monorail and quite a nice place to get bite to eat.

Kona is indeed on my list, and I did manage to get the Kona breakfast ADR that I wanted. I'm still red-in-the-face for having missed it last time I stayed at the Poly.

I took a Plaza ADR in place of the desired 1900 Park Fare, but I will keep checking every so often. My greatest desire is for California Grill, and I took the "last one" available at 21:50, but I really don't want it at that time. Still, it's better to have a ressie than none at all. I've closed out EPCOT restaurants before, and cannot honestly say that I felt pressured to hurry the meal, but my own sense of fair play makes me hurry because I know that these folks just want to close up and get home to their families.

We are traveling 8/14-21 this year. I had made all of my ADR's a few months ago, but DH finally decided to get involved so I had to change many of my ADR's to fit the new schedule. I was able to get all that I wanted (except 'Ohana - went with Kona instead), even got Coral Reef again (lunch instead of dinner).

Flexibility is key, and it still may not be enough to get you into the most popular places.

I've gone to wdw and been disappointed with not being able to get ressies at certain restaurants but found when I got there if I called the 'dine' number in the morning before I went to the park or stopped at the podium I've gotten lucky!! Can't hurt to ask!

Unfortunately popular places do book up quickly so if you can't book 180 days out you may be out of luck. You can keep trying though sometimes bookings open up. Oh and just a pet peeve of mine- its 'Ohana and no "s" at the end, sorry I know I'm a pain. .

Wow, finally someone else who knows the REAL name of that restaurant! It is not owned by people named O'hana. The word means "family" in Hawaiian.
