Heene Family - Falcon is in the middle.

If this turns out to be a hoax, someone is going to be in deep doo-doo.. Maybe the older brother was ticked at the younger brother and made up this story?

Anything would be better than the thought that he fell out somewhere..:(

I wouldn't say the 9 year old was lying, he may have seen the 6 year get in....he ran and told on him, in the mean time the 6 year old realizes he's about to be in a lot of trouble, climbs out....

The 6-year-old boy who was thought to be in a mylar balloon speeding high across Colorado Thursday was on the ABC series 'Wife Swap,' according to multiple reports.

Falcon Heene is the son of Richard and Mayumi Heene of Ft. Collins, Colo. His parents are storm chasers, and their chaotic parenting style was criticized by their swap family.

Richard and Mayumi Heene of Ft. Collins, Colo. have two other boys, Bradford and Royo.

The family was on the show because of their risk-taking ways. According to the ABC 'Wife Swap' website, the family sleeps in their clothes so they can leap from bed and run after a storm at any given moment.

The site also describes the balloon that sounds like the one being tracked Thursday.

"When the Heene family aren't chasing storms, they devote their time to scientific experiments that include looking for extraterrestrials and building a research-gathering flying saucer to send into the eye of the storm," says the site.

no news.

They are still looking for him.

Anyone have any more live feeds we can watch? preferably local?

Well, I certainly hope that's true, but I kind of doubt it.

Poor baby. :sad1:

PLEASE someone tell me what is going on!!

No one knows. They thought he was in the balloon, it landed, he's not in it and they can't find him in or around their home.

Some unsubstantiated reports claim he fell out, but there is no proof or evidence.

Ooops I mean I would say the 9 year old wasn't lying....meaning he saw the 6 year get in and then told on him, in the mean time the 6 year old got out.

A sibling saw the boy get into the craft Thursday morning. Officials were concerned that the boy may have fallen out of it, an undersheriff said.

Margie Martinez of the Weld County Sheriff's Office said a sibling saw Falcon Heene climb into the basket before the balloon took off from his parents' home.

Because the door on the balloon was unlocked, it's possible the boy had fallen out, Martinez said.

The balloon appeared to be a saucer-shaped, Mylar-coated helium balloon, similar to a party balloon.

Before the feed I linked to ended, they had a Balloonist on their that said that once you get over 30 feet off the ground then chances of less-than-serious injury in a fall is very slim. The kid's small size might be able to stretch that limit upwards some, but folks, I don't think this is going to have a good ending. My heart hopes I'm wrong, but my head tells me otherwise.

I believe the same, but I'm praying I'm wrong.

From what all the experts are saying now, the balloon didn't have enough lift to pick up a 50 pound child.

I wouldn't consider it a hoax, so much as an error. The boy probably let the balloon go, and then hid because he was scared of getting in trouble.
