Has anyone heard of this program? DH saw an infomercial on it the other night and he is really interested in it. It's a "diet" that is specialized for your body type. It has a 6 week body makeover that guarantees that you'll lose 30 lbs in 6 weeks or your money back. I've checked out their website and their chat forum and it seems like people have alot of success with it. I was wondering if anyone has heard of it or had any success with it. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I've never heard of it, sorry! Just bumping this up for the Monday morning crew! ;)

I can't believe I'm admitting this, but I bought this from the infomercial that I saw, too. I started the plan 2-3 weeks ago. So far, I've lost 13-1/2 pounds and untold inches. It works. I'm not sure I'll lose 30 pounds in 6 weeks, but it's a plan one could use for the rest of their life. So, I may only be down 22 pounds in 6 weeks. Is that successful? To me it is!

Having said that, let me tell you a little bit about the plan (without giving away copyrighted material). The plan focuses on eating only healthy, natural foods. No pills, no shakes, no prepackaged anything. Just good food that you prepare. You cut all added sugar, added sodium, and added fat out of your diet. Seems simple enough, until you try to eat a baked potato with no sodium. It was tough at first, but now (after the first week of detox) foods have so much natural flavor I don't miss salt at all! You can use all the herbs and spices you'd like, but no "fake" anything. No salt substitute, no Molly McButter. You have to search and seek out chicken and turkey that doesn't have added "flavor enhancements" pumped into it (read salt - check out your grocery store - this isn't as easy as it sounds!). Condiments are essentially forbidden because they all have added sugar and salt. You'd be surprized how much junk is hidden in the foods on the shelves these days. The plan also has you eating small meals all day long. 5-6 meals. You must eat them all. Essentially what you're doing is giving your body the fuel it needs when it needs it so it's burned efficiently and not stored as fat. You must drink at least 100 ounces of water a day.

What works so well for me on this plan is that it tells me what specifically to eat and when to eat it. I don't have to worry about points or calories. It works for me because under other programs I always sabotaged myself by making room for bad foods in leiu of good foods. This program doesn't allow bad foods. Period. Therefore, I can't self-destruct! Again, it works for me (and if you go to the Provida Life Sciences website) you'll see it works for LOTS of people. Some may call the plan rigid. I call it regimented. But it works for me, so I'm sticking with it. I get to eat lots of protein, carbs, fruits, and veggies (that my body type processes and uses the best). I only shop in the produce and meat/seafood aisle now. It's amazing!

It also incorporates a "fat burning" program which is essentially very low impact aerobics - or walking! That's it. Also has a "muscle toning" aspect, too. But the vast majority of the success of the plan comes from the eating plan. It's healthy, it's wholesome. I'm never hungry now. I have more energy than before (because I'm stoking my fire with the right fuels now). And I'm almost down one size in 3 weeks! Can you beat that?

Go check out their site. Like I said, it's not for everyone. If you're really serious about losing the weight in a healthy way and you're fed up with all other plans and you're ready to give up your treats and sacrifice for something that's important to you and your health, then this plan will work for you.

Please don't flame me for this, but when I read some posts on WISH, it seems like people are trying to find a loop hole in their diet plan so they can continue in their old bad habits (a "low cal" treat here, a "low carb" treat there to fill the hole where the bad food used to go). Wake up and face the mirror! You got to where you are because of those bad habits and bad food. Do you want to lose weight, be healthy, and look good - forever? Then something has to change - and that's your eating patterns. The 6 Week Body Maveover Plan does that. There's no cheating, no loop holes. Just good, wholesome eating.

It works for me. I can see how it may not work for others. But frankly, I'm so sick and disgusted with my weight, I'm going to make this one work because it is a healthy, sound plan that I can do with relative ease. It just takes serious, hard commitment.

It sounds very interesting. If Atkins ever lets me down, I will try this. Right now I'll stick with my salt and fat, though :)

Thanks for the info :p I've always seen it on TV and have been curious and now I know!! I think it really is about finding what works for you. It's great you've found a plan you can stick with and with such great results - keep it up! For me - I'll stick with my mainly sugar free plan. I've found that carbs don't bother me as much as pure sugar - but it's what works for me! Good luck!

Califlady~ Thanks so much for the info. I've been over on the other board and seen the wonderful weight loss others have had. I've taken the blueprint and determined my body type and I think that I'm going to give this a try. I was going to do weight watchers but with the guarantee with this, what do I have to lose? Only all that unsightly weight sitting on my body!! I'm ordering today!!!!

Misty - good luck! I hope you will share your progress with us! This sounds like a really neat plan! I would really be interested to hear how you like it and what your results are! :) It seems like "clean eating". I'm sure you'll be purifying your body!

Califlady - WOW! You have seen some great results! That's awesome! I'm glad you found something you LOVE and that you are feeling good about it. :)
