6 nights in CCV 2BD plus 1 night in BWV studio!

Last minute CCV in December?! Amazing score! I wouldnt give it up even with the construction. I saw reports that the scaffolding is coming down.
Yes I was able to pull 5 nights last month! We are so excited. We never got to try the boat transportation so going to try it and its convenient to other things planned for the trip, perfect for our first christmas trip 😀

Anxiously awaiting for more! We are staying at CCV last minute! I wanted to ask you, how is the construction? I had no idea there was exterior construction going on right now, did it affect you in any way? Are they doing the balconies, thats what im afraid of. I requested to be facing brv pool

We're they giving out free hot chocolate in the lobby? We thought that was a nice touch from last year.

How is the 2bedroom different from the one bedroom I mean besides the obvious extra room lol wouldnt the living room and kitchen and everything be the same, just curious! We will be eating at Geyser for the first time too, I hope it changes my opinion that there arent many food options there that interest us!
much more to come! We got back home on Saturday and getting back to reality has been brutal. The post-Disney blues are hitting hard. I have lots of thoughts to share, so more to come!

The construction was fine. The exterior scaffolding came down midway through our stay. While the scaffolding was still up, we walked by a few times at nighttime and it did not appear that those rooms were occupied, but I could be wrong.

No free hot chocolate that I saw in the lobby. There is a treat station where you can purchase drinks and snacks, but nothing complimentary as far as I am aware. The lobby was MOBBED outside of early mornings and late evening, I was not expecting that.

The 2BD was great. The 2nd bedroom had a full bathroom and two queen beds with the primary bedroom having a king bed and its own bathroom. Both of my kids got their fingers caught in the sliding door to their bathroom, so definitely beware of that if any kiddos are traveling with you. I loved the 2BD and would absolutely stay again. Compared to the 1BD at VGF, the 2BD at CCV felt a bit cramped to me. Yes, I know the square footage of the 2BD at CCV is more than the 1BD at VGF, but still.

Geyser Point was great and probably the best food we had on property this time. You must try the pretzel! Outside of that, our dining experiences were underwhelming on this trip. More details to come.

You will enjoy your trip!! When are you going?

In 4 days you will see me disappearing from these boards for a few weeks!! 🤣🤣 When im at my happy place nothing else matters 😀😀 Good to know about the lobby, I was hoping people would calm down with the scaled back gingerbread house, but expectations have been set 😅

Pretzel is def something that wouldnt be on my list but I will put it on there! Im feeling adventurous with the Bison burger and the dessert sounds really good 😀 We never do quick service and Roaring fork actually has a lot of stuff on the menu of interest. I think our issue last time is that we didnt care for the snow white dinner food and the other restaurant gives me anxiety lol but we actually did really like the food at that restaurant!

you will have an AMAZING time. Are you in a 2BD too?

And same about the lobby. I thought since the gingerbread display was scaled back and no longer included in the list of signature locations or however it was advertised that the crowds would be lower. Not the case. And the gingerbread display was pretty small compared to some of the other resorts.

The menu at Artist Point hasn't appealed to me, so we have never been, but the location and character interactions seem great! I feel validated reading that you didn't care for the food there, either!

Nope we're in the one bedroom. We toured it after the refresh and really liked it, thought they did a great job adding the more outdoorsy vibe that was missing.

The character interactions were great, the evil queen was fantastic and loved the unique characters. The food was probably the worst I ever had on property imo. It all tasted microwaved, we all agreed. Maybe it was a one off. But im not willing to try again!

one more quick thought before I jump back in later on with my full report!

I had never seen this mentioned on the boards before, so maybe my experience was a one off. But when we walked into our room at CCV, I was struck by the intense pine smell in the room. It was overpowering. I am not sure if they pump in the scent like they do in the lobby (though this was like 1000x stronger than the lobby smell) or if the cleaners maybe spilled or used too much product. But the smell continued throughout our stay, so I am kind of guessing it's the former. Be aware if you are sensitive to smells.

I may not have the most sensitive nose, but I do not recall this from my stay in October. It is possible that you had an unlucky location, and/or the cleaning thing.

They're really trying to get that themeing going 🤣 Ive never seen mentioned in the boards either about the snow white food not being good, thats why I think it may have been a one off.

My wife is sensitive to smells, she has a hard time with poly gch, which I think smells great. We use pine sol in the house when we clean so hopefully she is acclimated 🤣🤣

I am extremely sensitive to smells. We stayed CCV back in May, it was not a newly refurbed room and there was no smell. If it smells in April I will have to ask to be moved. I get angry when there's extra smells 😂

This is good to know! I'll chalk it up to an unlucky location or cleaning snafu. The smell in the lobby, on the other hand 🥰

I am prone to migraine and occasionally a strong smell is enough to trigger one. Didn't happen in this case! Phew. But that's what I would do - if you have the same experience I'd turn back around and go to the front desk. Let's cross our fingers my experience was a one off!

Man, the post-Disney blues hit me hard! Being in the bubble is so nice and I really enjoy when the extent of my responsibilities are deciding what rides to do next and what snacks to get on the way there. lol. I don't have a clear idea yet of when our next trip will be, more about that later, so although I know we'll be back because we're DVC not knowing WHEN we'll be back is contributing to my blues.

Saturday - arrival day to CCV, hang at resort
Sunday - AK, pool break, hop to HS
Monday - HS, pool break, hop to MK
Tuesday - MK, pool break, return to MK for MVMCP
Wednesday - Epcot, hop to HS
Thursday - MK, pool break, MK
Friday - check out of CCV, move to BWV, resort day
Saturday - check out of BWV, drive home :(

We sometimes fly and sometimes drive. Our last four trips we flew, but it was back on the road this trip. On a normal day, aka not over a holiday, the drive usually takes us 6.5 hours with stopping a couple of times. We got a bit of a later start on our departure day than usual due to an extracurricular commitment of one of our kiddos, and we were on our way by 10am. We arrived at the resort around 4:30pm.

We were somewhere on I-4 when I got a text at 3:45pm saying From Disney: Welcome! Your room is not ready at this time. Please enjoy the Resort and we will send an update once it becomes available. No big deal as we were still on the road, and the room ready notification came through at 4:07pm. I immediately looked up a map at the resort to see that we had a room on the 6th floor at CCV. We were room 6018 and overlooked the breezeway to BRV to our right and the BRV pool to our left. Not the side of the resort where the scaffolding had been reported, so I didn't stop by the front desk. I even linked all of our Magic Bands myself via MDE! Not sure why I've never tried to do it myself before now. It worked perfectly!

The bell services staff was helpful unloading our vehicle and we opted to have them bring the luggage up for is. Walking into that lobby knowing you're at the start of your trip and that you have many days to enjoy that view is such a great feeling. The theming at CCV is topnotch. I love everything about the lobby! We were at BRV for one night in December 2024, so this was not our first experience with the Christmas decor, but it was breathtaking nonetheless.

As soon as the bags came up, we hit the BRV pool. This was new to us, and honestly I don't think we even set foot in that pool on our past trips to BRV. The main pool is a lot of fun, but the BRV pool was way less crazy with plentiful seating. And it's a great zero entry pool. My kids loved it.

I already touched on Geyser Point in one of my earlier posts, but this was probably our standout dining experience of this trip. The service was great and the food was delicious. If you join the walk up waitlist, don't be dissuaded by a long wait time. Our estimated wait time was 90 minutes and we were called in just over 30 minutes. Not bad at all, and worth it.

We enjoy catching the outdoor movies when we can, and we headed to the movie after dinner. On this night it was one of our family favorites, Muppet Christmas Carol. There was still half of the movie left when we walked up, and hung around to finish it. Classic! After that, we planned to stick around for the fireworks. We had watched the fireworks from in front of Reunion Station on a past trip, and there had been speakers playing Happily Ever After. The fireworks began, and no music was piped in! We walked closer to Geyser Point, and from there the sound was playing. Seems like the speakers in that area in front of Reunion Station are not there anymore, or are broken.

We called it a night after that. The room itself was great, pine-y smell aside. This was our first stay in a 2BD and it has definitely spoiled me. It was a nice change to have the living area as a living area, and not the sleeping area for my kids. Those of you who have said the sofa component of the Murphy Bed is uncomfortable, well you were definitely right! Getting a 2BD for the 4 of us felt a bit extravagant, and I fear now that I am hooked. I felt very lucky to score 6 nights in this room (over a holiday!) via the waitlist as I know it was not an easy get.

Up next, our park days!

Sounds like a great start! Our first two bedroom stays were at the newer hotels PIT and RIV, imagine being able to come back from that 🤣🤣 Were def hooked on the one bedrooms when it will be just the two of us.

So do you watch the fireworks right in front of geyser point? I never thought to watch the fireworks from WL, is it a good view? I saw that some ccv rooms have a firework view but I was reading comments but the room configuration was weird and not as good. On the brv one bedroom view it said hearing accessible so that almost scared me away, but not as much as a different room layout. Was your room hearing accessible?

I heard when you watch the movies being DVC they give you candy, is that true? Do they just pass it out or you have to ask? Do you like BRV or CCV better? We have yet to stay at BRV. The room layout of that generation is my least favorite, but the themeing looks more authentic. I've realized that I prefer the newer rooms much more so ccv may be more my style. Im not sure if the layout is the same.

I felt like I hit the jackpot with 5 nights at ccv during holiday time as well. We're staying at wdw for 10 nights and im afraid its not enough 🤣🤣 Glad you enjoyed it and cant wait to hear the rest!

just under 30 days until our trip! life has been especially busy lately, so really looking forward to our week at WDW. My spouse asked me to ask my "DVC Internet Friends" if the jetted tub at CCV still functions. That made me lol, but I think I've heard here that none of the jetted tubs function anymore. Sorry to burst his bubble. Pun not intended.
OH, and the jetted tub DID work. They seemingly have not removed this feature yet from CCV.

OMG, I cannot imagine coming back from a 2BD at PIT or RIV. The post trip blues after that would be intense! I have not stayed at either but both are on my list for a future trip!

There is a decent view of the fireworks from WL! The better, mostly unobstructed view was from in front of reunion station. I screenshot a map and drew a little box around where we've watched them before. In the past, this has been a great spot because you can see most of the fireworks AND there were speakers playing the show music, but the speakers weren't working this time. As you walk closer to Geyser Point, the view becomes obstructed from all the tree cover. I suppose if you walked down to the boat launch and walked down the dock that would be a great view, and there are benches/seating at the end of the dock. Not sure if music plays there though.

Our room was not hearing accessible! We definitely could not have seen fireworks from our room though.

There was not a visible recreation cast member that I saw during the movie, which is odd now that I think about it as in the past during movies I have always noticed the recreation cast members. So no free candy for us.

So, hard for me to pick a favorite of BRV and CCV. Like you, that BRV room layout is not my favorite at all. I'd also say it's my least favorite. But the theming at BRV is SO good. And their lobby is very cute and it's very peaceful over there. I liked the room layout at CCV much better. The theming at CCV was also pretty good, but not quite as amazing as BRV in my opinion. I would happily stay at either in the future! VERY hard to say which one I liked better. Maybe CCV but the 2BD could be influecing my answer. At BRV we had a 1BD for our first visit and a studio for our second visit.

Glad to hear they kept the jetted tub...

Wish Artist Pointe would just become a true signature restaurant, but I think Disney tried that before and adding in the characters was a way to make it work... Shame they couldn't do a true signature experience "on special nights".

We usually stay VGF 1 BR... my wife informed me during the room tour, if we ever stayed at CCV 2 bedrooms would be necessary

Thank you for the visual! Im going to ask a cast member where they pipe in the music and ill report back if there's any good areas. I guess ill just have to stay at brv to see which is better 🤣🤣

I could not agree with this more. I wish they would do a character buffett in the morning and a signature dinner at night. I guess because whispering canyon is all you care to enjoy they dont care to.

This is probably blasphemy, but to me it makes more sense to rid of snow white and put some woodland characters in whispering and make that the character dining. And i love snow white. For me it just seems like a one and done restaurant. I cant see myself eating there multiple times. I would be perfectly happy with chip and dale, Bambi, fox and the hound, etc. Even mr Humphrey 🤣 at Whispering Canyon.

Then artist point having some upscale steak and pasta like Topolinos, shoot i would probably buy ccv.
