Cast of Characters
Me- 39yr old (Shh-It's a secret) Trip planner
DH-45 yr old -Along for the ride
DS-15yr old -Typical teenager (You people who have one know what I mean)
DS- 8 yr old- My favorite travel companion (meaning he wanted to do everything I wanted to do without complaining)
We started our day off as usual with breakfast in the club lounge. I borrowed a few CDs from the library there to take back to the room. I thought that was a nice idea, but their collection is somewhat limited. No Jimmi Hendrix? We borrowed some Aerosmith, Eric Clapton, ACDC and Grateful Dead. After breakfast we headed to USO. My 8yr old DS wanted to ride the Mummy again, but we told him it would have to wait until we rode some of the other rides first that we hadn't gotten to yet. He reluctantly agreed. We did Shrek, which we absolutely loved. Then we did Jimmy Neutron. I liked this one better than BTTF. It wasn't as rough of a ride. I especially liked the part where you go through Bikini Bottom. You gotta love that Spongebob! We also rode Twister and we saw the Blues Brother's show. My DH is a big music fan and he really liked this. I thought it was good too, but the kids weren't as impressed. We then headed back to the HRH for lunch. We ate at the Kitchen. DH and I both ordered some kind of spicy soup with chicken and cheese in in. Sorry, I can't remember what it was called. I thought it was good, but DH thought it was too spicy and sent his back and got the chicken noodle soup instead. What a wimp! 8 yr old DS ordered a pizza and 15 yr old DS ordered yet another cheeseburger. I ordered the chicken pizza, which I thought was good and DH ordered some kind of sandwich, a reuben, I think. He liked it as well. After lunch, DH and 15 yr old DS decided they had had enough of the park and stayed at the hotel. Me and my 8yr old DS have much more stamina and decided there was much more fun to be had! We headed back to USO and rode the Mummy. This was definitely our favorite ride. We headed to Nick Live and saw a show. I think it made my DS a little nervous that he had to sit in a different area from me. I kept my eyes glued to him the whole time. One of my biggest fears is getting separated from him in a
big crowd of people. He is usually the first to raise his hand to volunteer for things, but he sat quietly in his seat throughout the whole show. I hope he managed to enjoy it a little. After that we watched the Street Breakz show. My DS liked it. I thought it was so-so. We did MIB and BTTF again. The first time I did MIB I got a measly 45,000. This time I got over 90,000. Big improvement! By now we were getting tired, so we headed back. When I got back my DH was just finishing up a couple loads of laundry. He said he had no trouble at all finding available machines on the 4th floor. I was surprised because I had read that people had some very bad experiences with the laundry situation at the HRH. I grabbed a glass of wine from the club lounge and headed down with him to get the clothes from the dryer. There was about 20 minutes left on the dryers when we got there so we sat and watched tv and finished our drinks while we waited. The whole time we sat there the washers were available. I told my DH what a great hubby he was to do laundry while I played all afternoon. We decided to go to Margaritaville for dinner. This turned out to be the longest wait we had for anything the entire trip. We got there at about 8:00 and our room keys didn't help much. We were told that there would be an hour wait. We ordered a couple of drinks from the walk-up window and sat outside in some comfy chairs while we waited. Finally, at about 9:00 we were seated. We sat upstairs in the balcony area. I thought the atmosphere was nice. I was a little disappointed because the volcano never went off while we were there. The waitress said it was kind of temperamental. Our food was good, but I can't for the life of me remember what we ordered! It must have been that melon margarita! We headed back to the room after dinner. By this time it was getting pretty late and we were all tired. More to come!
