6-nights at Disney World and 6-nights at Aulani in same year on 150 point contract

What I'm seeing you have two options when it comes to the point count.

1.buy buy buy. Get yourself a small resale contract and scratch that itch we all know is coming. As your kids get older you will want more points so just start that band wagon now. We near doubled our points this past year and have zero regrets.

2.transfer of points. When it comes closer you can use this board rent section and find someone willing to transfer the points you are shy of. Hell maybe even find a deal with someone with an Aulani contract to trade points to get it so you can book at the 11th month. I just had to do this (transfer points) for my upcoming august trip and it worked out great just a little foot work. this is a one per contract thing so you'll have to find the right person. it also is all done on the phone (the transfer and the booking) so you'll want to do it pretty much right at booking window.

take advantage of the buy one get one with the new magic plan they are offering. saved me over a hundred dollars this year so far. You might be able to get a preview by seeing what is available for the time this year as your are closeish to the 7 month mark which will tell you if you need to alter the plan in one way or another.

Either way good luck. this kind of 'problems' are what excite me about planning my next trip. which split stay this time, what can I do different or add on? enjoy!

I understand the sentiment. Banking my 2024 into 2025 was always the plan when buying the contract. We had just got back from a Disney World trip and knew we wouldn't go back until early 2026--so I always knew I'd have 300 points to burn for our first DVC stay. The decision to borrow from our Oct 2026 UY is solely because it's the right time to do this Hawaii trip. It will be for our anniversary combined with my in-laws anniversary. I doubt we'd have an itch to go back to WDW until Oct 2027, when our points would renew, and we could start doing more "reasonable" redemptions of 135-153 points for 6-nights at Poly.

However, we originally bought into DVC with the idea that we'd be back for our daughter's 4th birthday--so now we're just thinking what can we do to make both trips happen.

I've built a spreadsheet and basically determined that we'll likely need to shorten our WDW trip to 4-nights. Since I'll be spending 354 points on an Island View 2-bedroom at Aulani, and with the plan of buying 24 OTU points, we'll have 120 points to work with. This is good enough to get me:
- 4 nights at Poly (Studio-Standard)
- 4 nights at GF (Studio, Lake View)
- 5 nights at BLT (Studio, Lake View)
- 6 nights at AKV (Studio, Savanna)
- 6 nights at Cabins at FW
- 5 nights at Disneyland Hotel (Studio, Standard View)

With kids as young as we have (will be 4 and 2.5 during the trip), I think the monorail transportation or walkability from BLT weighs out heavily over extra nights. That being said, Animal Kingdom Lodge in a Savanna view is a bucket list thing for me, especially while my kids are young enough to appreciate it (rather than just shrug their shoulders and go back to using their iPad, lol). But if not now, then our next stay.

I really know nothing about the Cabins at FW--they look amazing with the bunk beds--but paying $75/day for a golf cart (which seems like a necessity) is annoying. The boat transportation to MK seems OK--but the lack of laundry and not being able to walk to pools or dining might be annoying. I guess I'll never know until I stay there!
I’m not sure why you aren’t considering Boulder Ridge. Previously you mentioned CCV and now CFW. BRV has the same theming.

CCV & BRV share amenities with the restaurants and pools close by and you can keep the kids in their strollers and just roll them onto the boat.

The BRV are much larger than CCV and BLT studios and have been recently remodeled. Also important for BRV over CCV is that for your littles there are baths in all rooms and are not limited to the one booking category.

CFW do look nice but a golf cart with kids of that young does not sound appealing to me.

You’re right—no real reason to consider CFW when I can just as easily do 6-nights at Boulder Ridge for 116 points and have a more convenient way of taking the boat to MK. Only advantage to CFW would be the “1-bedroom” setup and the bunk beds for the kids, but conversely I’d have to pay for a golf cart and somehow deal with hauling strollers.

FWIW we LOVE Boulder Ridge. Rooms have been recently refurbished as mentioned above. The theming is fantastic. My kids are slightly older than yours, but we found the transportation very convenient and enjoyed the ferry to MK. Definitely worth consideration for your trip especially if it helps you stretch your points.
