Hi everyone! I am coming back after a long absence! I have recently been motivated and have decided to go for 6 months and work really hard at making some great changes. Why 6 months? Well, it is a long story.....Today I see the dentist (I hate this more than anything!) I have neglected my dental health on top of everything else and am absolutely dreading this visit. I know that eventually I will need gum surgery. But I decided that I will put off any decision on that until my next 6 month visit. My goal will be to floss daily and improve my dental health so I can go to that visit with my head held high. And then I'll decide further treatment.
As I contemplated this change, I thought of several things in my life I want to work on and have decided on 4 "healthy matters"
1. Dental health
2. Spiritual health
3. financial health
4. weight health
There are several more areas in my life that I would like to work on, but I have decided on these 4 for the next 6 months. Each week I will set a goal for each portion. I will take baby steps as I don't want to get overwhelmed. I know that I want to start today and stop procrastinating.
In the end of 6 months this is what I want to accomplish:
1. Improve my dental health as measured by my dentist, and have flossing become a habit
2. Feel more connected spiritually (not sure how to measure this one)
3. Have a set budget and stick to it! Also have established a regular savings pattern, with $300 saved up. (that's 50 a month) It might not seem like a lot to some people, but I need to get out of the paycheck to paycheck mentality.
So for my first week, these are my planned actions to achieve my goals:
1. in the evening use my sonicare and floss daily
2. 4 evenings read from my Mother's devotional
3. Only spend my alloted weekly "allowance"
4. Journal foods daily and read the first chapter of Dr. Phil's book
I'll check in weekly and post my success as well as my planned actions for the following week.
NOW, I need some creative help! I would like to put in a countdown timer but I want a catchy phrase to sum up what I am working on, and perhaps add a clippie to my signature. Any ideas?????
