DH and I are currently pregnant with our 2nd and 3rd children (oopsey) and since we had to cancel our plans for this October/November we're thinking about taking our twins along with our 12 year old to the World in May 2008. The babies will be 6 months old at that time. We have realized that we can no longer be a park commando family since we're acquiring two new commandos-in- training so we'll need to slow it down. Here are my questions...

Should we wait until our twins are walking before we go back to the World?

How easy or hard is it working with twins in the World?

Should we have a certain timeframe of how long we should be in the parks?

From the looks of it, it looks like there is only one Baby Care Center in each park (not good), right?

The problem is that our DD hasn't been a baby for a long time and when she was a baby DH carried her on his back and we went from there. This time around we have two and I can't carry a baby on my back and he shouldn't even be walking (his health) for that matter. We will also have an ECV along with us for DH.

I guess I'm looking for cheers for us to just go ahead and take the babies to WDW and not have to wait until they are out of diapers to go back. Thanks!

Well I don't have twins but my kids are close in age. We have gone with a 6 month old and it was great! Take your stroller and you have your 12 year old to help you. You will do fine! I wouldn't worry too much about the baby care centers. We hardly used them but it is nice to know they are there if you need them. I think you will have a great time! princess:

Hi! I'm a twin mommy too! It is amazing! Good for you that you haven't listened to all the negative crap people tell you when you are pregnant with twins.

I say go for it! Depending on your attitude about people asking you about the twins...we get stopped all the time. Mostly, people ask really stupid questions and say really stupid things. For example, last week I had a lady ask me if I was sure my boys aren't identical...um--yes, I'm sure??? If you want to avoid some questions, comments get two smaller strollers!

Also, I'm not sure what your plans are for feeding...but we took my DD to Myrtle Beach when she was about 8 months. We had to take baby food and formula. It was kind of a pain in the butt...I thought if we had waited just a few months we could have feed her regular food and regular milk. Soooo much easier.

If you haven't check www.twinstuff.com it is a discussion forum and really saved my sanity the during my pregnacy and the first few months. I had to stop reading it after a while...some of the people are huge whiners about having twins.

Congratulations!

I say go. Since you've been to WDW, you know what's what. That will help tons. We took our youngest when she was 5 mths and it was great. Of course, she wasn't twins, but our other kids were 9, 7 and 5 (had his birthday at WDW:goodvibes )

It's easier pre-walking, at least with a singleton. Get Ergos or Baby Bjorns for waiting in lines and riding attractions. Congrats!

Hi~! I just have to add my 2 cents here ! I'm a mommy to twins too! They will be 22 years old this month! Time certainly flies!

What made me giggle was the above comment!:dance3: When my twins were infants and even toddlers (they are boy/girl) Boy has blonde hair blue eyes, girl has brown hair, brown eyes.! I was asked (too many times to count) ARE they Identical? ARE you sure they arent? OMG, come on.. Boy girl twins no less !:rotfl:

Thanks for the memories! Time goes really quick,,, enjoy now, and ignore the people!:grouphug:

no twins here, but took my boys when they were 5-6 months and it was great. Luckily - they are happy in their strollers at the time since they were not walking yet. So much stimulation kept them happy. I was breast feeding, so that made it really easy, too as I didn't have to take a lot of stuff into the parks - diapers and wipes and pacifier - and that was about it!!!

One year had my 6 mo old, my 3 and 6 yr olds, my nieces who were 8 and 13 or so at the time....we did get looks for having so many children - but we had a great time.

We didn't even go back for naps much at all......my son was very happy in his stroller - I sat in shows and let them nurse discreetly and there are baby changing spots in most if not all of the restrooms....but I liked the baby changing place better.

Just remember to baby swap if you need to!

Have fun!

Thanks ladies! Your responses make me feel better. After this pregnancy I'm going to need a vacation so what better place to go, right? :D

Oh and Georgia, I'm loving twinstuff.com. Thanks a bunch for the referral! :)

We took our twins when they were 9 months old and I was 6 months pregnant.:scared1: Other than the really strange looks I got, it turned out fine. Have the babies in strollers and have your older child and DH help you when you are in the lines. Older daughter can help push a stroller. It is really quite simple. I took some formula, diapers and baby food and bought more at a local grocery store when we got there so we didn't have to lug it. If I had to do it again, I would have the groceries delivered instead of going out to get them. Another alternative is to send a box of those items to your resort ahead of time.

I'm not sure how you are planning to feed the babies so this may or may not apply. My twins were on formula by 9 months and my advice would be, if you use formula, is to try to use powdered formula and don't get in the habit of warming bottles. We always did room temp water and when we were away or in restaurants we didn't have to run around trying to get a bottle warmed. Also, the little packets that come premeasured for a bottle were supper light weight and convenient to carry. I just threw a couple bottles in the bag, filled with bottled water, and then when babies were hungry I just added a packet, shook and we were good to go.:woohoo:

I agree it is much easier before the kids can walk. They are limited to the stroller and snuggly/sling and they are just easy. Once they can walk they are much more independent and want to walk and get into everything. Go and enjoy your time with your whole family. Take lots of pictures so that you can show them later. We will be there with our newest in Jan 2008 (3 1/2 mo. old) and cant wait.
