6 Disney Secrets You’ll Wish You Never Read

interesting... #1 is sort of wrong. they're not wide enough for vehicles. the pargos, yes. but as a prime example, they have to use custom made armored trucks to handle the cash and those trucks have exceptionally little clearance as it is.

#3 sadly, i believe is gone. i heard something about a fire taking it out. never had confirmation either way though. but there are others along those lines, like the lake at the WDW speedway

#6 just came up in another thread... http://www.snopes.com/disney/parks/declare.asp

I guess I've spent too much time at Disney, but for me part of the fun is the inside jokes and knowing how much effort was put into making the parks appear as they do.

Is number 5 really a pic of Splash Mountain??? I thought thepicture was taken from the other side and it doesn't look anything like the ride vehicle. I don't doubt that people do those said things on the ride, it just makes me question the writers credibility

Wow, you're sharp! I didn't even notice the ride vehicles myself.

I think that could be a ride vehicle from Disneyland. I can't help you out with the picture angle, though.

No, that part's real. For years, there was a website dedicated to such photos.

I think that #5 possibly is a ride vehicle from DL. I have heard of similar incidents occurring on ToT - although sometimes they are alledgedly accidental. :rolleyes1 Some folks have no shame! :sad2:

That is Disneyland.
The Splash MTN at Disneyland only seats 1 person per row where as at Disney World it can hold 2 people per row

Gotcha!! I have never been to DL...only DW. As I said I have no doubt that people do that stuff, it's just a shame because other people can't buy the picture that they would have.

I've never been to DL either. One day!
But I've seen many pics of the DL Splash MTN so I known its only a 1 person per row ride.
I find that to be a bit of a dumb idea because the younger kids usually like to sit with their parent or someone they are with.

It is sad people do that. It ruins the ride for alot of people.
The worst is ToT because its a car FULL of other people so you never know who is going to do what.
We would block so many pics everyday for bad behavior.
Other people on the ride who wanted their pics we would put back on the ride again.

I always loved the ones who actually did it that claim they didnt and try to cause a problem about not being able to see their picture.
We know it was them ... the cast members are the ones who watch the photos and block them if needed. Lol

the 'flash mountain' pic is OLD. *OLD*.

but we're talking early 90s or whatever here. the infamous flash mountain website is long gone (although if you poke around on the net, you can find archives of it), but it stemmed from a CM who would keep all the photos that couldn't be displayed/sold.

#4 made me giggle a bit. Some people have seriously dirty minds to even see the statue like that :lmao:

to fully figure out if the splash mountain photo is 'really' splash mountain, I need that tedious black bar removed from the picture.

As to #6... I actually witnessed someone pass at MK. In Tomorrowland of all places. It was an older gentleman. The EMT's where working furiously and then they suddenly stopped. When they stopped the family was ushered away by security. The family was in a total daze. As soon as the family was walking away the EMT's started tucking in the blankets around the man and they fastened the belts then they took him away but they were in no hurry.

While all this was going on the security people were trying to keep the crowd moving and not allow people to stand and watch. I saw all this only because we were sitting across from where it was happening, having lunch.

Do I know for a 100% fact that this man died....no...but I work in a medical facility and I see people pass away an a somewhat regular basis. You just know what your looking at. Particularly, based on what the EMT's were doing and not doing.

Not very secret "secrets"...I've heard 'em all many, many times before (and have been in the tunnels), and the Little Mermaid castle thing is debunked on Snopes. Would be more interesting if they had something lesser known, like all the animals that died before the opening of AK and the field day the animal activists had with that.

ETA: Or lightning hitting the monorails. I remember a noteable day when Monorail Black got struck.

We were on TOT once when a group of high school girls in front of us all flashed the camera. It was my youngest sons first time and he really wanted a photo. We asked why there was no photo and was told "technical problem", but I knew better and told the CM. She said it happens many times a day. When she saw how sad my little one was, she got us to the front of the line to ride again. So just ask if this happens to you.

Ummm... ask to ride again, not to see the photo - its already been deleted or kept for some CM's private collection.

CM's arent supposed to say the real reason as to why there is no photo.
We are told to say something along the lines of there being a technical problem or for some reason the camera just didnt take the picture.
Its very un-disney like to say that someone flashed the camera or gave the finger or something ... kinda ruins the Disney spirit. :wizard:
Even though yes, most people will know the real reason.

I was a CM once, so when I talk to CMs, I sometimes will mention this and then they stray from the standard spiels and will usually tell the truth if they know.
