Hi, last year the kids had chicken pox ~ they finished them up about two weeks before trip! This year poor little ds (only 2 years old) has strep throat. His doing well, but I feel bad for the little guy. I am just waiting for dd to get it! I shared a spoon this morning with ds before I found out about strep, hope I don't get it. dh and I are feeling run down a bit. Just a few good sleeps should fix that up!

So we'll be lugging more meds to WDW! Hope the antibiotics stay on ice in the plane. The Pharmasist said they'd be fine on ice on the plane.

Get in just....anyone have the directions to a clinic or Celebration Emerg? Thanks! Sandra

sorry to here your ds is sick Sandra, he should be better by the time you leave:) get lots of rest and vitamins(:o I'm sounding like my dm again!) so the rest of you don't get sick! my ds, who is much older(18) has always had strep throat at least twice a year but has rarely shared it with rest of us. good luck. we're leaving in 29hrs:cool: maybe we'll see you at csr!! have a wonderful vacation!

SAY HI TO US AT THE POOL! I would love a friendly HI HOWDY DO from you! We will be the family with the REALLY loud kids! dd is 8, blond, skinny in the deep end. ds is 2, hangs out with me a lot in the kids pool or playing on the steps of the big pool. He's blondy too. Not to be excluded, dh and I are blond as well (technically blond, I have been blond more than half my life, wouldn't that count as ALMOST real?????LOL). SEE YA! HAVE A BLAST! Sandra!

PS: ds is sleeping well, hope he's okay tomorrow and dd doesn't get it! Chat soon! S

Yuck. :( Hope that your DS starts feeling much better quickly and that the rest of you don't get it so that you can really enjoy your trip!

Hope you have a really fun trip!

Sorry to hear that your DS is not feeling well Sandra. I'm sure that he'll be just fine by the time you go. Sending lots of keep well pixie dust for the rest of you! Kathy

Thanks all! You are all sooooo wonderful!

ds had a great sleep last night. His throat is sore, he doesn't want much to eat but he's enjoying water. I'll pick up Pediasure later for him. Now that he's on meds he will be fine. dd is bursting at the seams about the trip. Is there anything anyone wants upon my return? Can't wait for the DISmeet in May! Chat soon! Sandra

I'm glad to hear that your ds had a good night's sleep, Sandra. I think he'll be fine by the time you leave. My DH and Dan both had colds when we went at March Break, but they recovered very quickly, much to my relief and Tim and I never got sick.

You'll have a wonderful time! :)

Sandra, just read about DS having strep this is what my DS had, the recovery was quick but only once he started eating. That feaver kept coming back just as I thought he was better. My Dr. gave us Zythromax(antibiotic) it was great, only 5 doses , 1 a day. A great quick easy to give drug! Expensive if you don't have a drug plan. I will ask for this one all the time(hopefully won't have to have anymore antibiotics for a long time!). I think there may be a Medical Clinic closer than Celebration, I remember my Grandmother going to one that I think was close to where the Casting building was, but this was years ago. I am sure at the resort they will let you know. Just FYI, they usually give you a free fridge for the room if you have to have meds kept cold, so explain why you need one at the desk.

I hope everyone is feeling better by the time you get there, and that nobody else gets sick before.

The first time I went to the World, I came down with bronchitis on the trip down. We were staying on site, and were able to call a doctor to come to the room. And, although we took a break every afternoon (only time I've been able to convince DH this was a good idea), I had a great time.

Otherwise, I don't know where any clinics/doctors are, but I bet you can get that info from hotel staff (on or off site). Now, if my antibiotics actually work, I'll be in good shape (leaving in two days.)

Hope everyone's feeling better. Enjoy.

Hi all! Thanks for writing!

Today is the first day ds seems better. He slept until 9:30am this morning, he's usually up about 8am. I got LOTS of cleaning and organizing done.

Today was a funny day (SO FAR). I plugged in the vacuum and blew a fuse, can't figure on dh's fuse system so can't change it. It's also the fridge fuse YIKES! ds meds are in fridge! MICHELLE! FREE FRIDGE! That would be great, we'd only need it 6 days. Last year we rented a fridge and barely used it. I was going to rent one this year and now with ds on meds! dd's meds are okay out of the fridge. (heart drugs).

My NEW cell phone blew today too LOL! I called them up and they'll replace it tonight.

I always giggle when things like this happen. I feel like "LUCY" sometimes! ( as in 'and Ricky'). Chat soon! Sandra 3 days to go!

Glad your ds is feeling better Sandra. We were just talking in our staff meeting this morning how many of our clients get sick on vacation. Apparently there have been studies done that show that many people actually do get sick just before or on vacation. The feeling is that it is due to the stress of getting ready. This same phenomenon also applies to many people at Christmas!

Have a wonderful time on your trip. I know you have been really looking forward to it.

Our worse trip was the very first time we went to Orlando 7 years ago. We only went for a week and I came down with a sore throat the night before and within 2 days I had lost my voice and felt terrible....by then my DH was in the hotel room with a high fever and he coughed so hard and so bad that when he got home he ended up having sugery to repair an umbilical hernia due to his extreme coughing!:(

It seems every trip one of us gets sick. Sandra I wish you all the greatest of health (at least until your trip is over) LOL:wave:

Sandra, glad to hear your DS is improving. And I'll bet you're REALLY glad you only have 3 more days to go. :bounce: (To limit anything else going wrong if nothing else.)

How is your son today, Sandra? I hope everyone is feeling well by the weekend. You must be so excited! I wonder if the weather in Florida will be as hot as it has been here the last two days? Have a great trip! We can't wait to hear all about it!

Our cat George died today.

We have two cats, 15 year old brother and sister team! The cat was healthy looking until yesterday. He was really crying a lot in the afternoon, I noticed a bump around his mid section. I pretty much figured it was a tumor. Last night he started to get better, then I thought maybe he's just got a 'cat flu???' Today he went to the vet and it was a liver tumor, he was put down. dh stayed with him and George was purring in the end. I can't believe how hard this is, especially for dd, she's only 8.

It was an eventful day...but it will get better, it ALWAYS does! ºoº Sandra

You're really having a rough time of it Sandra. You are really going to need this vacation. I'm so sorry to hear about your cat. I'm sure your daughter is devastated. Our cat was 17 when he died - on my son's 12th birthday. That's a birthday we'll never forget. I hope that all your troubles are now behind you and that your vacation is truly magical.

Thanks Nancy! With dd being born so ill, we adopted the "Circle of Life" attitude. It's very sad when someone dies, very sad, we miss them. As time passes, we start to feel a little better. Then we feel so lucky and happy to have known them. When dh's aunt died last month, it was harder than I thought. But at the wake, my kids (8 and 2) were really behaving well and doing the 'cute kid' thing, it made everyone think of the "Circle of Life" Auntie Eve passed on and the new generation thrives. Same thing with George the cat. We really miss his presence, but we are starting to focus on the good stuff and the other cat, George's sister Lucky. My in-laws adore my cats so, Lucky will be in great hands while we are away.

Yesterday was quite the day! The fridge fuse blew with ds meds inside, my NEW cell phone went nuts, and my cat died. BUT we look at it this way, the fuse was fixed, the phone was replaced, the cat is not suffering. And we live happily ever after.

Despite the bumbs in the road, life is GRAND and we savior each and every second. We are lucky to be alive and happy for all the people and pets in our lives!

Thanks again for your kind words. I think cyber friends are important! I wish you all the best happy days ALWAYS!

2 more days until Disney and we are ready to go! ds ate breakky for the first time in days and he's looking better ~ no fever in 40 hours! TAKE CARE ALL! S

I'm glad things are returning to normal today, Sandra! I always try to look at things as "tomorrow is another day" and you know, it works! :)

Enjoy your vacation, Sandra. The worst must be behind you by now, and I'm so glad to hear that your little one seems to be on the road to recovery. You really do need this vacation, and it sounds like you will savour every moment ! You'll be in the most magical place in the whole world in a very short time -- and knowing someone else is there having a good time is almost (lol) as good as being there myself! Have a safe and wonderful vacation.

You all are great! I hope you are enjoying this beautiful weather in Ontario! WOW! It's very cheery!

I am thrilled ds is better. I figured he'd be fine by the trip, but his recovery was slow. Everything is in place and we are ready to go. When we took dd is WDW in 1998 it was so great I have been in vacation mode ever since. WDW or other places, we always seem to be on vacation or thinking of vacations LOL! It's a nice place to be!

The older I get the more relaxed I get ~

Take care! Chat soon! Sandra
