I was at the newly opened store in Fairview and the t-shirts are on sale for 6.99, adults and children. I bought 2 for our trip (next week!!!!!) for the kids to wear while at the Donald breakfast. And 2 baseball caps for the trip as well.

Thanks for the info. I was waiting for the sale that usually happens around this time of year. I was thinking of getting some hats for my girls for our upcoming trip.

We bought t-shirts at this sale last year and it helped cut down on t-shirt buying while at The World. Also we bought a few other Disney themed items as well as glow head bands (that look like Mickey Ears) from the $ store, before we left.

This year I have my glow ears again and also the little light up fans. We make a goodie bag up for entertainment on the plane. I guess it's time to take a trek to the Disney store.

Hi, from Paris, Ontario. When you said that there is a new Disney store at Fairview, what and where is that mall? I am always after a new mall to go to as long as its not to far away.

The Fairview Mall is located at Sheppard rd. and highway 404 ...It is not a new mall but the Fairview store just reopened on Friday..It got renovated like the Yorkdale and Scarborough Town Centre stores. All the Disney Stores have the 6.99 t-shirts for kids and Adults but i think it will end this weekend like their usual sales but could be wrong on that one. Just to let u know that there is also a new Children's Place store that opened at Scarborough Town Centre..They are the people that now own Disney Store!!! ;)

What a great idea. I wonder if I can sneak in a visit to the Disney store before we go. (We live outside Halifax, the closest store, so I never get to shop there alone, it's always a big outing.)

Also, you veterans probably already know this, but we were told the characters will sign clothing, as long as it's not being worn, so we have already bought a Stitch shirt for my little Stitch fan, and a princess t-shirt for my daughter, so they can bring them to the character meals we have booked. Now I just have to find a nice big Sharpie for the signing.

JoAnne and family (dh, ds 5 and dd 3), first time to Disney scheduled for May 2006!

JoAnne (coastgirl),
Congrats on your 1st trip :). Your kids are perfect ages and you will all have a magical time.

More suggestions: Check out the different $ stores around. "Dollarama" in particular has LOTS of Disney items for a goodie bag or souvenirs that are actually brought from home, therefore less expensive ;)

This week I picked up Disney themed - stamper markers, tattoos, light up pens, journal/autograph books and stickers! They also have glow'n the dark headbands that look like Mickey Ears!

Another suggestion if you don't know already, bring some princess/pirate costumes and have the kids get dressed up one day, especially if you're going to a character meal...but even if you're not, it's great fun and great for pics! Walmart has princess outfits in the toy section ($19.99) and the $ store again is perfect for pirate gear.

I was thinking after I posted, our local dollar store (a Dollarama) has lots of Disney stuff, that's where I filled the goody bags for dd's birthday. I was thinking I'd bring a princess outfit, she has Jasmine and Aurora (that one was a handmedown, but those two are the "good" Disney store ones), as well as the Wal-mart version of Cinderella. Thanks for confirming that for me! Jasmine is her hands-down favourite, so I was thinking she'd wear that to the Princess lunch we've booked. Was hoping to find some good dress up for ds at WDW, he does join in with his sister but my selection of "boy" stuff is limited to a firefighter's hat, a safari hat, and an astronaut's helmet.

I am soooo looking forward to this! Thanks for sharing my excitement.

I didn't know this... thanks! I wound up buying 8 more t-shirts and am heading over now to see if the sale is still on.....

okay, so now I've been to the Fairview Mall store twice, the Vaughan Mills store once and Scarborough town store today. Vaughan Mills on the weekend had tons of mickey head antenna toppers for 99 cents on sale, none of the other stores had them on sale. VM also had the cell phones (toys) on for 3.99 from 8.50.
I got 2 t-shirts each for DH and me today and a couple more for souvies for the kids. Then I popped into Dollerama and got 2 Buzz Lightyear notepads, 8 packs of various Disney stickers, 2 pencil cases, Mickey and Nemo (for the pressed pennies) and 3 packs of glow in the dark bracelets. I have several packs of glow sticks from Halloween, but paid way more than a $1 for each pack.

Re:signing clothing - we did this on our last trip Oct 2004. They had plain white T-s with Mickey on them and the words WDW - the kids had them signed by all the characters front and back and they are still wearing them. We used Crayola fabric markers so there would be a variety of diff colours to choose from! Going to do it again this year.

add: We also took a small fabric hoop bought from Michaels to make it easier for the characters to sign!
