6/7/11 - It's a double dip DREAM!

I apologize if this information has been asked before but I couldn't find it on the boards or on the Disney website. How late can excursions be cancelled without penalty? The cruise is a surprise for our girls and I've booked several excursions but will probably cancel at least 1 or 2 depending on what my oldest would rather do. DH and our oldest swam with the dolphins at Blue Lagoon last summer so I'd rather do something else this time but it was such an awesome experience I went ahead and signed us up for the Blue Lagoon Dolphin encounter so the whole family can participate (youngest DD isn't old enough for the swim). If our oldest isn't disappointed about not doing the dolphin thing this year I'd like to cancel it. But I won't know that until we tell them about the cruise...

But your post made me SUPER EXCITED for your kids!!!:cheer2:

We've been booked for 18 months by the time the cruise gets here. We told our kids on my daughter's 9th birthday back in September. Nine months was all we could wait!!:lmao:

OOOhhhh you should video it and maybe send it in for a commercial!!!!!!

ha ha JKMJ44 - That's hilarious! The excitement is too much to take and it just exploded. I bet your kids are sooo thrilled!!!

My daughter is a little stinker - she says if it doesn't hurry up and get here she is just going to start bouncing off the walls. I'm like, uh, you're doing that already!!

How could you not bounce off the walls! We are so stoked to be going! AQUA DUCK HERE WE COME!!

And I have to admit that this thread is making it very hard for me to focus on my WORK this week!!!:happytv:

KEEP IT UP!!!

I forget about those cute smileys...gotta use those more. As for work, what work...It's all DREAM today baby! LOL :cool1:

But, when things get tough today, just remember...you're never too far from a dancing banana

So 50 days for us till we go!!! WAHOO!!!!!! :dance3:

I believe it's 48 hours before the excursion time. I know that while on the ship in January, when I tried to cancel an excursion the night before the actual excursion, they would not allow it.

Hope this helps!

I know!!!!!! I can hardly stand it. We just got back from a week long visit with my inlaws and my FIL accidentially slipped up and said something about it but he talked in enough circles once he realized it was supposed to be a surprise my oldest had no idea what was going on. She's pretty bright so I think she knows we are going on one but she has no idea if it's next week or next year.
We totally plan on video taping when we share the details with them. We drive down to West Palm Beach pretty often to see the IL's so I think that we are going to tell them we are going to visit the grandparents (which will explain the car full of luggage). We normally drive halfway and spend a night in a hotel so I think we will wake them up the morning of the cruise and tell them. Like with streamers and airhorns and as many obnoxious props I can get my hands on!:cheer2:

My mom slipped and told my 4 year old about the cruise in January. We have since convinced her that we're just going to "Cinderella's Castle" (WDW) in June. I plan to tell her about the cruise when we pull up alongside the ship!

She watched float-out videos with us on You Tube back in November, so she kind of understands the "boat that is like a hotel with restaurants", but I can't wait to see her face. I hope she's not pissed that we've been lying to her for 6 months!

She also doesn't know that Grandma Val is joining us in Florida for the pre-cruise festivities (Sea World, AK, then MK). The kid will be even more surprised when the other two grandparents, and two more friends join us the night before the cruise...

At least at this age she doesn't realize that I'm working on FE gifts and door decorations, she just sees me cutting out pictures and gluing on magnets...

We parents are so sneaky! :rolleyes1

Pirate night... anyone dressing up at all?

I have some fun skull & crossbones jewelry, and a pirate bandana to wear in my hair. Thinking about adding some other accessories, but don't want to look like a complete dork... just wondering if people really do dress up as pirates for pirate night?

We are. DH and I got pirate costumes on clearance right after Halloween for the cruise. :lmao:

DS12......I'm not sure about. I could not get him interested in looking at pirate costumes then, so he does not have one. I do have some pirate stuff for him just in case he decides to dress up. :confused3 You gotta love this age.

Surprises...........DS12 does not know we are going to WDW before the cruise. I have just been very vague about the dates of the cruise. He does know that he will be missing the last 3 days of school (gotta love unplanned snow days). I am planning on telling him about WDW while we are on the plane.

I just read a post that mentioned how the cabanas are available to book on line now so I rushed over to check it out. The family cabanas are all booked for our cruise.

I hadn't even heard that they were going to move those to on-line booking! Was that announced somewhere and I just missed it?

However, if you're looking - there are two Serenity Bay cabanas still available right now!

Did we decide on kids only for the FEs or everyone? Can someone please list the FE "expectations", for example, once a day, once for the trip, or what? I want to get started -- this is my first time doing the FE and I want to hold up my end of the game.

Hurry up summer!

I don't think it was ever "officially" decided. :confused3

We were going to do a gift for everyone!

It's almost here!!!!! I'm going to go buy shorts today!!!! :rotfl::rotfl:

We're doing gifts for each cabin, plus something for each child.

Thank you for posting this!!! I just happened to check here last night, before going to bed. I didn't know they were going to open online booking for these either! Thanks to your post, I was able to get a cabana for serenity bay! :wizard:
