6/7/11 - It's a double dip DREAM!

Hey, everyone! I am absolutely new here!

We are ready for our first Disney cruise! Party of 5, two rooms! We told the kids for Christmas and the suspense was killing me. Any time we'd see anything Disney related, I was ready to burst into tears! But now it's all out in the open and the kids are beside themselves.

What is everyone planning for this trip? We've never been and I need some tips! It would be great to connect with people before - I love that this forum exists!

It will be my DH and I, our 14 year old son, 10 year old son, and 3 year old daughter. Let the fun begin!

65 rooms! WOW! But seriously, do we have a head count of who's participating in ours? I've tried to check back through the spreadsheet and it says only 2 families, even though I was sure at one point it was updated. I think if we can get an educated guess of how many, then we can decide to do all one group, split it up, one per room, kids, and so on. I've also seen where others have had a cut off day. Do we want to do this?

Well to be honest I have participated in the FE's in the past, but have never had that many rooms. We will prob be flying and don't want to devote a whole suitcase for FE stuff, if however there are that many people participating or we divide up the rooms I am interested in participating.

Wow! Y'all have been chatty since I was last on this thread! Hope everyone had wonderful holidays and are ready to get back to the important stuff - planning!

I have been part of FEs a couple times and they just let people give whatever they felt comfortable with. No one said you had to give to every kid or one per room, etc. Everyone gives what they can.

I haven't signed up yet because we're supposed to be at WDW for 5 days before the cruise and I don't think I'll have room. But that might change. So, if the number of rooms is small, say 10-15, I might think about joining. On one of my cruises, we had over 30 rooms and that was overwhelming for me! I know my DGD 9 will miss it if we don't. So, we are "to be determined"!

One idea would just be to bring small candies? Wouldn't take up a ton of space?

On the westbound repo cruise we had over 100 FE families! That was definitely tough as we were packing for 2 weeks. Ended up having to ship a box ahead of time.

On another cruise with a lot of families, we split into "teams" so you were only responsible for 8-10 families. Much easier!

Hi Everyone!

We are DH, DW, and DD14 and will be sailing along with you on that gorgeous new ship! We've been watching the dream come to life for 2 years now! We absolutely cannot wait to explore every deck! This will be DCL #7 for us

Is there a Fish Extender team set up yet? Please count us in if there is. We've done this on 5 of our cruises and it's just so much fun to see what appears each day in our FE! DH and I also love playing FE fairy as we do our deliveries and try not to get caught!

I'll try to find/post a picture of ours, but really it can be anything you can hang. I've seen folks with simple bags, Christmas stockings - anything you can dream up! Most of the FE's the people make will have multiple pockets depending on how many in your stateroom are participating. Ours is about 7" wide which, on the Magic, fit the door frame nicely. The Dream door frames look very similar, so that's probably still a reasonable size. Then each pocket on ours is about 3-4 inches deep.

Sorry - I don't know how I missed this request... here's ours!

We found this really cool fabric that goes through your printer at Joann's, so we used that for the personalization and then used liquid stitch to attach it. We've also changed the ribbons since this picture was taken to just reflect the ship's name and year we cruised on it. We could then use shiny sticker letters and it looks much better, imho.

I won't say "a lot" because what I'm doing is going to take a lot of work! But I'm well on my way. I think I got most of the hard part done, and a tiny bit of the fun part!
