Dreams really do come true! For all of you who have been dreaming of another NYC departure, I hope you are able to go for it! I am bumping up my 2012 trip report, for anyone who is lucky enough to be able to start planning a NY-Canada cruise! Wish I were, but alas... Those of us who did it in 2012 would be happy to answer questions!

Thank you for bumping this! I am out of my element with this itinerary as my cruises have consisted of mostly laying in the sun.
Do you recall any of the DCL excursions? What did your teens enjoy the most?

We did our own thing in both ports. There were port adventures which kept you local, and ones which ventured further out. Since we had never been to Canada before, we stayed in town and did our own things. I also need to read back through the trip report to remember - it is all in there! Off hand, what I remember the kids enjoying most was the candy store in Halifax (Freak Lunchbox), the Citadel in Halifax, and the power boat ride on the reversing falls in Saint John. There was a DCL trip including the power boats, but we reserved it online and got a better price and a better time. In both ports, the kids were back on the boat for a late lunch. My husband and I walked around Saint John more after they went back. Both ports were really easy to get around in, walking for the most part (took a cab to the reversing falls / power boats but could have walked it - long walk around 40 min). Shops to see, small museums, food, people watching.
