Was in Orlando for a conference, but went over to WDW early Thursday and did Epcot with my sis and bil. Sis and I attended the Oley Converence at the Renassaince Sea World From Mon to Thur. After they left, I checked into Pop Century and planned on going to MK to ride some rides never thinking I would be able to get on 7DMT.
At 9PM I was walking in the rain past Winnie the Pooh, and the murmer in the crowd was "its open now, its open now". It was still raining but no lightning. Yes after being closed most of the day due to thunder and lightning, they opened it up at 9PM. I got in line with the other crazy masses and was off the ride at 10PM. Quite an experience and I am glad I did get to ride.
Rumor has it that if you are stand-by the wait time averages 3 hours during the day.
The animatronics at the top of the mountain are amazing. The ride was fun too.

We were there the same day! My mom and DD6 were literally in the gate thing, next to board the ride when they shut it down due to weather. This was around 6 or 7ish. They waited about 40 min, and the weather had no sign of letting up anytime soon. I knew from these boards if you have a FP and the ride is down due to weather, you can redeem the FP anytime after/if it reopens. Well, since they had already made it past both FP spots, and it was technically redeemed, the first CM they talked to said there was nothing they could do but wait. So they waited about 10 more min, and my DD was really starting to melt down. Luckily, the CM gave them both a paper FP to come back. And as irony goes..... my DD was then scared to ride it after it got dark. 
Oh well..... there's always next trip!!!
