6-17-2011 Dream Cruise

We will also be on the June 17th cruise - my first Disney Cruise and I can't wait! We have quite a large group going - 18 in all - 6 cabins. Wouold love to participate in the fish extender activity. Anyone have any sugggestions as to where to buy such a thing - I am not very crafty at making anything like that, so I would really prefer to buy! Help!

Hello Everyone,

Hopefully we will be getting in planning mode soon, because it will be an awesome thing to be able to interact with you guys :goodvibes

Today, I am now one step closer. I purchased our One Way tickets Today!!:cool1::cool1: Notice, I said one way :rotfl::rotfl2::lmao: ? I am going to keep a look out for the one way back from MCO in the coming days. I had been stalking Airtran because for now that is who had the right prices. Also, we fly them quite frequently so it is nothing new for us. I got the tickets for $94 pp and of course the small $6 fee to choose the seats (but of well). Right now, the cost of the tickets returning are $116, which is not bad but if the one way going went down, surely those will go down. The only thing is that that flight doesn't leave until 8:00 PM. No worries with that because I will be making reservations at the Hyatt for one of their Day Rooms, which is I hear is pretty easy to reserve.

Cruise will be paid off in the next few weeks (before the end of January). We already have our room at DW at OKW (on our points).

How far has everyone gotten so far??

I was just checking in here, glad to see more joining! This will be a great time to cruise, the weather should be beautiful....can't wait! The grandchildren found out at Christmas, as it is their Christmas surprise, Disney and the Cruise for the family. My daughter knew, but we kept the secret for the grandchildren. They will be 5 and 7 and are going to love it! It will be their first cruise for DD and DSIL and DGD and DGS. This is our second Disney cruise, we did a 3 nighter on the Disney Wonder. But this ship looks amazing, been looking at all the pictures, videos, etc. We have two rooms, on the 6th floor with a balcony. Keep the posts coming. We'll be staying off site at Windsor Hills, family will be doing Disney first (7 days) so this will be great following!

The cruise really is a great way to end your wonderful 7 days at the world. I have heard nothing but great things about Windsor Hills. I think that it is similar to Caribe Cove. I love the idea of your whole family going. :thumbsup2

We will be staying at BLT. Of course this is after we had the OKW held :rotfl:. But I am really looking forward to the whole thing. We will be there three days prior.

Not sure what room we have just yet as we have the Cat 8C GTY.:banana: I like the idea of not knowing just yet, because either way it will be great!

Hopefully, more will come in :thumbsup2

Hi guys!

I just wanted to pass this along just in case someone wanted the information. Our flight on the way back will not be until 8 PM, so I went ahead and reserved a "Day Room" at the Hyatt at MCO. For the stay from 10AM -6PM the cost is $89. Not necessarily an expense I wanted at first, but with an active 2 (so to be 3) year old and our 8 year old. Having somewhere to just lay our heads, rest, or eat, is priceless. :thumbsup2

You can reserve it calling the hotel directly or you can do it in person. Just keep in mind that there are only a limited number of "Day Rooms" available each day.

I hope this information helps for anyone that might be interested.

:cool1: Its getting closer!!! I cant wait to start planning our excursions.. Would love to meet other families, especially that have girls around the same age as my daughers, 8 and 13...

Hello to my fellow cruisers!! :cool1:
I thought it would be fun if we got to know each other to pass the months we have until our trip. OK, I'll go first. :)

TRAVELING WITH- My DH, my DD-13, my DS- 12, and my parents
1ST DISNEY CRUISE? IF NOT, HOW MANY HAVE YOU BEEN ON? This will be our first Disney cruise. My DH and I went on a Carnival cruise 11 years ago. My kids and parents have never been on a cruise of any kind.

I also wanted to ask some of your opinions about the fish extender idea. I know most of you said you would like to participate. Do you think we should set a limit on how many families we will take? I've never been a part of one of these so I am still learning. I look forward to hearing from all of you!

1ST DISNEY CRUISE? No. We have cruised on the Disney Wonder 5 times. This will be our 6th Disney Cruise/  I :love::love: Disney and their cruises.

I would love to participate in an FE. I am not experienced with it at all. If there is anyone out there that "gets it" please let me know. I am in, if we do it.

I do know that the cruise is full with no availabilities, because I was looking for an additional room because a friend asked about it.:confused3 Although, I am sure that one or two may open up.

We just booked the June 17th Dream cruise right before Christmas! :cool1: WOHOO. We surprised dd (7) by doing a scavenger hunt on Christmas morning. She was very excited.

:welcome: Glad to have you with us. It sounds like your dd was super excited!! That kind of news just makes my day :thumbsup2

I think that there is some directions somewhere to add a signature. If I find it will let you know. In the meantime, its pretty easy: You just go to the site and choose what you want etc, and then it will give you a selection of choice links to choose from based on what you are attaching it to. If that makes sense? :confused3 I will definitely send it to you if I find it. :thumbsup2

Welcome Again! My dd is 8 so they will be in the same area.

Thanks for the warm welcome! I figured out the avatar and sig, but it was sweet of you to look for the links for me.

I'm interested in doing the fish extenders as well. How many have signed up so far?

Good deal! I see that you DID do it :thumbsup2

I am not sure about the FE, just yet. Others have expressed interest, but I do not think that we are familiar with how it works. I know that I do not. :confused3

I see that we are both from Texas!

I've never done the FE obviously, but have been reading about it and it sounds fun! My dd would love to receive and give some disney 'treasures'. I looked on ebay and they sell fish extenders. I would like to try to make my own. My aunt owns a monogram shop so I'm sure she could personalize it for me.

We are from SE Texas...bout 2 hrs from Houston. Its yucky and muggy here this am. Texas weather is crazy, because Monday morning it was 28!:confused3

I am just so excited about this cruise. I am a litle OCD with planning. I have a cruise notebook that I am compiling with info. This is what I did for our park trips and it worked well. I also have reserved my copy of the 2011 passporters book. It includes info on the Dream! It's not available until April tho.

Has your dd done the kids clubs on your previous cruises? My dh was a little worried about letting our dd do it alone, but once she saw the pictures online...she's all for it! It looks fun to her.

I saw some FE on ebay. I thought about trying to make one but I think I've already talked myself out of that. :rotfl2: I'll probably be ordering one.:)

Let's start a list for the fish extender. Just let me know if you want to participate and I'll edit this list and add your name to it.

1. iluv2go2disney- 2 cabins

2. mom2reese - 1 cabin, including one child - girl, age 7
