I will also be wearing a black dress for formal night- maybe we should all get our picture made with them on!! :lmao:

I would not worry about being under dressed for formal night. A black dress is always dressy enough and you see people VERY dressed and those just dressed comfortably. I like to dress up on the cruise because I never get to any other time. Some people are so worried about what others wear. There were some posts about flip flops. Well my feet are always killing me, so I can no longer wear all the high heeled pointy toed shoes I could not do without for years. Many night I wear some type of flip flop in the dining room-sorry to anyone offended by it. the only time I was really bothered by what someone wore was on formal night when the people at the next table were all in shorts and the husband had on a sleeveless tight t shirt (it did not do anything for him)--sort of ruined the atmosphere a little for me, but, oh well.

I didn't realize flip flops were tabo.. that is all my DD wears :confused3

Call- I did a couple of weeks ago. It's not guaranteed- but it's worth a shot.:thumbsup2

Ok, I will do that, thanks for the info! :)

I do not know how to put several quotes in, so here goes:

Welcome to the new cruiser.

Disneyfans...where do you live? My Aunt lives in Fort Worth..maybe I should call her? Hope all is ok there.

My hair is also always in the ponytail or up with a clip. I have real curly hair & when were on the ship before with the humidity...WOW! It was up or total frizz!

You won't offend me, that is all I am ever in!!! With these luggage restrictions too, that is all I will be able to fit, the ones I am wearing! LOL

How do I request a time? Do I call or wait until I board?

Call and request the "rotation" that you want. I requested my favorite server vs a rotation though this time around. He is AMAZING and I would take him over a certain rotation any time!

I have straight hair then gets VERY frizzy.....I can't imagine what the cruise will be!!!! Pony tails for me!!!

Stephanie, I saw your post on the main thread of your pics of the castaway club gift.. can you tell me if the bag they give you is lined...to put food, water bottles in that they were keep? Hope I explained myself:confused3

I thought they did away with the staggered times.

Here's hoping we get a great server-I think that makes so much of a difference in the whole cruise experience.

My hair is terribly frizzy with the humidity and wind-plus I am hair challenged-so it usually a pony tail for me on the cruise and always at home.

Lots of people wear flip flops, but some have posted they are not appropriate for the dining room-guess they will have to avoid staring at my feet.

Too funny, if people are staring at your feet, they have bigger problems! :)

I was actually thinking of wearing long shorts, to my knees or so, the first day so I don't have to worry about all 4 of us having to get ready for dinner. We have early seating. Think this will be ok? The shorts are kind of like capris (sp?)

I think that would be fine.

Most of the inside of the bag is just the same canvas as the outside. There is a front panel however that does have a thin plastic lining inside.

Good morning everyone,
It is a beautiful day here in sunny Orlando (where it was well over 90 yesterday - here comes summer!) My resident "catbird" is out annoying my two cats who are sitting on the porch with me, and they are miffed that they can't go get him that they are, instead, wrestling with each other. Just another Sunday morning..

So I was on the "main" cruise forum boards reading about Cat 1 - 3 guests popcorn::and, literally, am weepy from their tales of Concierge service and "standing orders for milk & cookies at 9pm" and "unlimited Palo meals" etc etc. And all I want is a cabin assignment... (nope, not yet, just looked.) And it leads me to wonder, WHO has the kind of money to pay $12K or $15K or $17K for their family to cruise for a week? But there are stories of people who upgraded from a Cat 9 to a Cat 3 for $900 (for a 3 night) and someone who got UPGRADED from a Cat 5 to the ROY SUITE!!! And then I realize that there are folks like that who either a) have lots of $$ or b) have lots of luck, and I do get depressed again. So I made myself a decaf cappucino :surfweb: and kept reading...

I called the TA yesterday to see about adding a friend for DD and wouldn't you know it that the friend will have turned 13 by the time of the cruise (but is 12 now). I'd pay the price to add the 12 year old so that DD could have a companion, but it doubles the instant she turns 13. I don't know about you, but a 13 (or 14 or 15 y.o....) doesn't eat, drink, or consume any more services than a 12 y.o. And since they now don't go to the stack until they are 14 on the Magic, I should think a case could be made that they should still be charged kids rates until then.. (ok, so I am not a lawyer!) Somewhat aggrivating. (Yes, I know that they magically become adults after 9 y.o. at the parks which is equally bogus, IMO.)

Momtomari: you both look lovely and the dressed would work on either night. Question: is your daugther's name pronounced like "Mary" or "Marie"? figured it could go either way.

Good Morning Everyone and welcome to the new peeps!!!!! So I have said I was going to try to lose some weight before this trip but I have NOT tried yet really... I shall step it up starting this week:thumbsup2...:)

We went to a little Elementary Spring Carnival yesterday and played games and Lance jumped in the moonwalk. Layne spent all his money on food and Layla loved doing the "cupcake walk":cutie:

My DD is 13 & we had to pay adult price for her, too! I too, think it is crazy, but what are going to do.

I've been paying adult fare for DD all her life as we travel as a duo... it's just that she's old enough now to enjoy the company of a friend and I'd like to take one and it's just too expensive on DCL (whereas on MSC or Costa kids sail for port charges, or on NCL they sometimes sail for $99 or $149)...

"standing orders for milk & cookies at 9pm"

EVERYONE on the ship can have a standing order with room service for cookies and milk every night. :thumbsup2 The girls and grandma do it everytime!
