The ship ashore time is 9:30am for Cozumel. For those wanting to go to Chakannab first thing, I offered to be in charge of coordinating a meet at 9:30am. Still need to pick a spot on the ship for us, then we can leave all as a group to go to the taxi stands and share taxi vans to the park to help reduce cost. If anyone has a suggestion on where to meet that AM, would be great. I know alot of the excursions meet up at different places on the ship for the DCL excursions. This will be a Dis excursion!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Taina, the 9:30 time sounds pretty good for us, what area is near the ship exit, I can't remember. Our excursion is at 1pm- and I think we have to be there early for it, so that would give us plenty of time for exploring, swimming, and eating lunch there.:goodvibes

What's everyone's weekend plans?

I'm off tomorrow, birthday party to go to tomorrow night, Easter egg hunt/dyeing eggs Saturday, church/dinner/movies on Sunday. Whewwww- I'm tired just thinking about it. Jordan is off school all next week for Spring break, so Steve is home with her, at least he gets a break. LOL

Ok. The FE exchange plan has been to at least do 1 item per cabin. Some of us are planning to do that as well as a little something for every child. It would be done only once for the cruise. So as someone said, if we have 26 cabins participating then each cabin would give 26 gifts during the cruise. (Each cabin could pick which day they would like to deliver)

There had been discussions of doing a gift exchange at the DIS meet where you bought something that represents your area and we draw names. I think the person that was going to organize the meet had to cancel. So this is up for discussion.

Hope this helps with any confusions.

Hey Hey I am the one who suggested the gift exchange at first meet!!!!
It is alot of fun having everyone come up intro themselves pick name out of hat which is your dis name and then so forth
Just lets say everyone meet at 3:00 and we will then do exchange at around 3:20.... I will organize the meeting:lovestruc and also I will announce along with help excursions shared, brunches shared, possible other get togethers during the week.....This would also be a time to get a pic....
so FIRST DIS MEET GIFT EXCHANGE is optional but totally great!!! Again be creative and pick something 1 gift or goody bag from your family to another representing something from your hometown location!!!

Also for the FE
PLEASE just see it as something easy and fun not stressfull! It doesn't matter what day or what you give... that is the WHOLE point of the fabulous fun!!!!!

I have been MIA because of stress of husband losing job and SOCCER SOCCER SOCCER!

Hope everyone is having a great day!!!
Lance was sick so I stayed home from work today... I was sad he was ill but it was nice to lounge at home!!!

I decided on our formal and semi formal clothes last night- made Jordan try on a bunch of dresses. I am also trying to get the other dinner nights' clothing together.:yay::yay:

Cozumel is so easy as far as the pier.... You might want to consider meeting on the pier at a certain time maybe near the pharmacy or on the right side before the escalators(sp?) Especially since so many disney excursion will have the boat meeting places!

It is so funny as I'm reading your post- it made me even more excited for this trip. I can't wait to meet everyone, and you can put me down for the Dis Meet Gift Exchange- I don't know what I'm getting yet, but I'll figure out something. LOL

Does anyone know how to create a website for our group, and then we could also have all of the information on there, and it would of course have to be private. Anybody computer saavy out there, you guys know I'm not, I had issues making an excel spreadsheet. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

That's true. I haven't been since 2000(I'm sure it's changed)- but is there still a large area in front of where the ships dock- maybe we could meet there.

I think as soon as I know my room number, I'm going to order a gift basket/sand bucket from The Perfect Gift, we ordered one the last time for Jordan's 5th birthday, it was awesome, such cute stuff. I like her stuff because it's in your room when you get there, Jordan played with everything the whole cruise. We got a pirate treasure chest last time, this time I think I will do a sand bucket and toys. If anyone wants something for a special occasion for the cruise, she is awesome to work with.

Hi everyone ~~

Boy, I've sure missed a lot. Things at work are finally calming down, so I once again have a chance to catch up.

I am turning my concentration to cruise details! Thanks for posting the FE age list ... I have to put my creative thinking cap on.

I was reading through another thread about someone who had 2 GTY 12s who were assigned different decks ... I'm hoping that's not the case with our 2 cabins, but am planning accordingly, just in case.

I need to finalize my excursions for Grand Cayman and Cozumel ... four children with four different ideas :confused3

I need to read through many days of updates, but just quickly ... has a DISmeet been planned? I remember reading something about a Palo gathering, but not sure if I missed out on that one or not.

Also, I currently have 2 rooms reserved at the Dolphin, which I got several months ago ... did I read correctly that I can contact DCL directly and ask about a cruise discount at the Dolphin?

Thanks so much for the help!

Maureen

Be ready for possible cabin splitting!
Ours were split this past dec. and we had 2gty 12s....

How was the pricing for the pirate goodies?

I think the "treasure chest" basket was about $35(I think), it had pirate tattoos, pirate necklaces, a hat, it had lots of other stuff too, we got my nephew one too. Jordan's was a pirate and princess one, my nephew's was just the pirate one. You can tell the people at the company what stuff to put in it, and request certain things.

I know that several of us have almost 14 year olds. (I have a boy and a girl who will turn 14 on Aug 4.) Are you going to try and sign them up for the stack or sign them up for ocean quest and try to move them to the stack if they are bored.

I really don't know what to do... I have 2 kids almost 11 (daughter 11 on July 31, nephew 11 on Aug 5), then 2 kids almost 14....

I'm thinking that the almost 11's and my son almost 14 would have fun in ocean quest. If they are with my son it will give them more freedom to stick together and come and go in a group. However, my daugther mature beyond her years would probably enjoy the stack more.

So what are you guys doing with your "almost" kids??

My DS Layne is 14 and when we went in Dec he was 13 and he did stuff in both areas I think.... really I rarely see him during the week except it is required to be at the dinner table every nite by me but other than excursions he is free to participate in where he is most comfortable... It will be his 4th cruise on the MAGIC so he is very comfortable everywhere! :3dglasses

My DD turns 14 in Sept. She is also mature beyond her years. She will be going into high school in the Fall. I really think it depends on the child and their maturity, but all of her friends are older (she went to private school for K-3 so was able to begin school at age 4). We plan on going to talk to the counselors at the Stack when we get there and also let them know she already has 2 friends who will be going to be in the stack. We are keeping our hopes up, but if they say no, then she'll be OK with ocean quest or just hanging in other places than the stack.

Layne went to the stack at age 13... I did not have to say anything to anyone.... he just went with no problems and this was just this past Dec!.. so no worries!!! Your daughter can go to the stack!:thumbsup2

I think you need to go by what DCL says and not the DIS boards. I am not saying that the boards are not correct but when you board and explain to DCL that this is what you were expecting bc that is what their website states then I think you should be fine.

Last cruise DD was brand new potty trained. I read up and down the boards how they can't have any accidents, they don't offer any help, if your kid has an accident they are out of the club for 24 hours. When getting to the port and speaking to the clubs manager, it was NOTHING like that. They marked Maddys file that she need reminders. They were great about it and we never had one problem.

So I stressed for months about something that was not even an issue!

YES YES I agree!!!!
DO NOT STRESS this is vacation!!!!:cool2:

We're gonna be packing. Leaving on Sunday for a 7 night cruise on the Carnival Conquest!!

(We are doing this instead of camping. Fran didn't want to go camping. :rotfl:)

He is so silly. Well after Saturday, we will be MIA for a week. I will have a lot of catching up to do afterwards. :goodvibes

Thanks everyone for your condolences. :flower3: Kids went back to school this morning, and DH is going into the office for a few hours so the house is once again very quiet. Except for my sneezing and sniffles. The pollen count is extremely high and yesterday was so windy and cold at the gravesite. I hadn't even bothered to check the forecast - it was so nice and warm the day prior so I went out unprepared with a thin pashmina that the kids and I wrapped up in. It dropped down to 38 last night, but by Thurs its supposed to be 83! Crazy weather! These boards help take my mind off things. DH doesn't read the boards. His outlet is going to the pistol range to practice. He says that and hunting are the best thing for stress relief.:confused3 Well, thanks again everyone! I know you all would be a great source for uplifting the spirits! :goodvibes

Ok so your DH and my DH will have to talk.... My DH Rob also is a hunter!pirate:
