5th Park!

They are targeting families like mine that would pay that(we are going to do Discovery Cove next trip) and the big one 'Conventions".

Convention business is big, ask the wedding people, they'll bump a wedding reception from a ballroom or other location or dessert party at Epcot if they have a convention group(spend more money than a Disney bride and groom), that want the location.

Hi, I usually hang out in the weddings board and was traveling down the the Disign board when I saw a thread for Night Park, I come down here to lurk every once in a while and had to read this thread.

I just wanted to add my info, When I first called to plan my wedding, I was told that conventions can book up to 10 years in advance and that is why Weddings can only book 8-12 mo. in advance because they want to hold out for conventions. This must mean they are pretty big business!

I was on a board of directors for a large industry organization and we would have the annual meeting spots booked out 5 yrs in advance.

Now the actual details of where dinners, get togethers were held would be put in place about a year out. Hence probably why the 8-12 months for the weddings.

You bet they are big business, before I "retired" we did a directors meeting at the GF(kind of a test run) and they were bending over backwards to make the association feel at home. We would bring about 100+ to a annual meeting(that doesn't included wives and families).

I agree with you 100% for the next five years or so atleast. My point being is that no one really knows. I think a lot of what you hear on these forums is not so much a real rumor as it is something someone wants a rollercoaster park, a villians park etc. I do not think competition from universal is a huge threat considering they have ZERO room to expand.

The only counter to the financial piece is that Disney always seems to find a way to make money. The parks are still a huge money maker and draw for millions of people a year. The points could be argued all day, but to what end. So once again, No one knows.

if they're worried about Universal, their answer would be an e-ticket. Why spend money to build a whole park when you could just build Expedition Everest
