When? When? How? Really? I don't think so... Disney has been spending a lot of money lately and they need to work on updating their current parks before building another one. It just doesn't seem logical and your source doesn't seem that trustable to us may be to you but not us. So I don't think it will happen but I do see future large expansions happening to DHS or Epcot happening in the next 10 years.

My cousin's nephew works at...oh, never mind. But I heard a sixth park is imminent. It will be very expensive and exclusive. They won't actually offer anything to do but the gift shops will be ... Mediocre. It is Disney after all.

There is no economic justification for a new WDW park...

The economic reasons have been stated on threads about 1,000,000 times...so just trust me when I say it's been covered.

You are basing a multi-billion dollar development on new tshirts?
Here's a little secret: the entire 47 square mile properties main goal is to sell merchandise (maybe not originally...but definitely since about 1995)...both at WDW and at home in your local walmart. The public disclosed numbers bear that out.

And I will assume your sister is an excellent cast member...but she's not going to have any insight on anything of this magnitude or anywhere close to it.
Why would she? That kind of decision impacts a company with hundreds of millions of public shares...not exactly a "bulletin board" type thing...

But to actually contribute to this topic...... the idea of a villains 5th gate has been shoved around the interwebs for such a long time now, and to see yet another thread with even less credibility (I never thought I'd say the bus driver rumors had any credibility), is bland. However, if you are correct within 5 years (that's the max I'll give anyone), I'll tip my hat to you, sir.

There are a lot of empty buildings at DHS. If they have the money or any plan, they should work on adding to DHS.

As a Disney fan, I would love to hear a 5th park at WDW. If you flip to the other side, and be the management of Disney, you would have no desire to build more just to entertain. All they care is to capitalize on the existing stuff.

To make big bucks, they would license or build a park at another corner of the Earth. This is what they are trying to sell: a whole Disney park!!

There should be something on these boards that automatically deletes any thread claiming a '5th Park Coming' or 'New 5th Gate Coming per my brothers sisters aunts cousins fiance who has a nephew who's uncle works as a janitor in Downtown Disney'.

You know, it amazes me how we can blast our fellow human beings for posting something like this. Honestly, I hope the original poster gets the last laugh. If he/she feels like they have legit info., take the time to post it here and share it with others out of excitement for the possibility, lets at least have some common decency to be kind.

I know rumors get started here, and whether this is a rumor or comes true, doesnt matter, my point, whats the harm. No one deserves the ridicule dished out here, and this isnt an isolated case, and a few of you are regulars at it. Have you noticed the original poster hasnt returned, he/she is fairly new to the boards, I wouldnt return either with this kind of reception. Search your hearts deep, put yourself in their shoes, and see how it feels. Hurts a little, if you are truthful with yourself.

We aren't trying to be mean, its just before posting you should do a little research first. To say "its confirmed, they just decided on a theme this week its heroes and villians' and then to say 'Haven't you noticed more heroes/villians merch in gift shops?' when it was supposedly 'just decided' makes no sense. Would we all like it? Of course! But to come flat out and say its confirmed (4th hand) is just a little crazy. No Imagineer is going to come out and say anything to begin with. Espcially one that (if true) is working that close to the project. Forgive me if I am coming off mean, its not my intent. Most of us here are pretty knowledgable on Disney and this just doesn't sound right. Plus, this rumor has been circulating for how many years now?

The truth is probably some where in the middle.

The creative folks were probably tasked with developing the ideas and themes for a fifth gate.
Once the ideas get a little more developed, higher level logistics, like location and space needs will be evaluated. Cost estimates can be made. Then it can be debated internally as to whether they'll actually DO something.

So my guess is the creative side has been discussed. They've probably been green lighted to evaluate the merits of the project. My guess is the accountants have NOT discussed it yet.

So my analogy would that a little kid drew a picture of a tree house that he wants. Dad has said , yeah, sure we can build a tree house. Dad owns no tools, and doesn't now how to build anything. He wants to amuse his kid, but secretly hopes he'll forget about the treehouse and just play with the toys he has.


That being said, I'm bored. Lets hash this out some more. If you were the decision maker, what part of the property would you put this fifth gate?

Thank heavens, an actual Imagineer. Those fake ones have been giving us quite a problem lately. About time an actual Imagineer stood up. Better yet, your sister works at Animal Kingdom! That 100% authenticates your post. Also, its "heroes" bud, not "heros". Yeah, I'm attacking the post, so what? Let's be forward about these things.

When an Imagineer tells his good friend who then tells his wife, who proceeds to blab to her coworkers because she's so excited... This is what happens. So like I said, from the mouth of an actual Imagineer.
