5th grade instrumental concert

in our school, kids who take string instruments are in orchestra, and kids who take wind or percussion instruments are in band.

there are seven elementary schools in our district. last night all the 5th graders who take an instrument performed in a concert at the high school. between the band and the orchestra there were 400 kids! and so many parents that they had to open up the auditorium's balcony to accomodate everyone.

my dd plays violin. I was so proud.

That is so terrific!! I love to see music programs thriving. My 9 y/o dd has just started the violin. Keep up the good work.

Congratulations BR! My dd in 6th grade is going to play her Sax in her first concert ever on Tues. Parents are looking forward to it .

I went to my DS's band concert last night too!!
He's been playing trumpet since 4th grade and is now in 10th. They have the violins in with the band now, so it's like one big evening at the Pops

I'm glad I'm not the only one who is very proud, isn't it great!
