Hi!
Can anyone give me great ideas for an end of the year party for 5th graders? They will be moving up to a middle school next year so I want to do something fun! I am leaning to a beach/water theme. It will be for all of 5th grade - around 150 kids.
I know you guys will give me some great ideas!!
Thanks, Jama

When I was in 6th grade one of the last days of school was water fun day for the 6th graders. They would have water balloons, squirt guns, sprinklers and the best was the custodians would be on the roof of the school with hoses, water balloons and buckets of water. It was a BLAST.

We would have water balloon tosses, the relay where you fill a jar using a tablespoon, those kinds of games.

one of my kids had an hawaiian party, it was really neat and the other one had 50's-60's dance.

2 years ago, for DD11's 5th grade "graduation party"...they had a carnival theme...

The gym was turned into a carnival....they had many separate booths (moms ran the booths) with carnival type games & prizes. They may have even had a dunk tank. The kids loved it!!!!

They also had one of those popcorn machines & had hot dogs.

Each child also got a graduation t-shirt....with the name of the school on the front & a list of all the 5th graders on the back.

For my daughter's 5th grade graduation that had a DJ in the gym playing music for the last 1 1/2 hours of the day and they also gave all the kids disposible cameras. They had a blast taking pictures of and posing with their friends. The parents all baked treats and had chips/snacks. The school provided the drinks.

For your water theme I'd rent one of those big inflatable things (think moon bounce) but it is a water slide. Then you could do different stations like water ballon toss, squirt guns, etc so the slide isn't the only thing since you have so many kids.

Thanks! I really like your ideas! I am going to look into a dunking booth and water slide. Do schools have a problem with water "guns"?
I have always wanted to do a carnival theme but the kids want water!
