5K and 10K in Jan. 2015 sold out?

I just checked RunDisney and found that both the 5K and 10K during marathon weekend 2015 are sold out. Is this true? I've never registered more than a few months in advance previously.

The 10K sold out in under 2 hours.

There is a subforum on the DIS devoted just to running events. I recommend checking it out if you're interested in RunDisney races. You will find plenty of people talking about how fast races are selling out!

Regularly visit the WISH forum on these boards and click on events/competitions,that's where you'll find all the info on Run Disney races.Did you run the races last year ?I'm asking because the same thing happened last year,last year was the inaugural 10k as well as the Dopey challenge,which is basically signing up to run the 5k,10k,half marathon and full marathon.Four days in a row of running and getting up at 2-3am.That challenge alone had 7,500 runners which basically means that those signing up for this challenge take up 3/4 of the slots in the 5k and 10k.Registration opened up Tuesday and the only race still open is the full marathon and the Goofy challenge which is the one I'm signed up for which is doing the half and the full,the full is at 60% capacity and the Goofy at 50%.About 4-5 years ago the full marathon would still be open as late as November and December,today its a new world as there's a lot of people getting into running ,the full and Goofy will probably be sold by the first couple of days in May at the latest.Like you said a couple years ago these races stayed open for a good while,now you have people requesting to take off work the day registration opens so they can be by their computers at noon when registration opens,the same thing was happening for the races in Disneyland before and now the WDW races have caught up,and like I said its not just the Dopey challenge causing this,the Wine and Dine half marathon sold out in like a day and a half.
