.

No big party here either. Our town is having a two day celebration-started yesterday, there are little league games, girls softball games and mens softball games going on all day yesterday and today. Last night the carnival type rides were 12.00 for an armband allyou could ride from 5-10 took my dd to that and she had a ball- also played some carnival type games and won a few prizes. Bought a red, white and blue spinner with lights from a jr. hi group raising money for their relay for life team. Today dd had a softball game at 11 then we headed for the local pool until 5, now just hanging out until we go back in town for the fireworks at 10. she thinks she needs to ride again but at .90 a ticket and most rides taking 3 I said you did your riding last night. Have a happy 4th everyone. So far the rain has held off here except for a brief down pour during dd game. We had predictions for yesterday and today for major storms so far so good. I think it rained some after 11 last night. Hope it holds off for a few more hours and clears up for tomorrow as I have tomorrow off yet. Sure have enjoyed this min i vacation. :Pinkbounc

Nothing here either. DS's first birthday party was yesterday so today we're just trying to recover and find a place for all his new toys and clothes!! A few people we know had 4th of July parties yesterday which we couldn't make due to DS's party. I'm glad we were able to just stay home, but I sure would like some BBQ! ;) Too bad DH has been busy all day playing music for a church and then later a play.

We didnt do anything today either. My 2 oldest are at their dad's and dh, I and the 2 little ones just hung out. Our local fireworks tonight are at a park close by so Im hoping we can see them from our house.

DH and went to church and then went to the seafood festival in Mandeville, LA. The sun was shining, I wore a cute new outfit, and I couldn't wait to eat the delicious bounty of the sea there like I did in 2001. Sounds like it would be great, huh? Well There was hardly any seafood at the SEAFOOD FESTIVAL! We stopped at a stand that had a big sign on top of it that said "Shrimp, Crabmeat, and Lobster Quesadillas". That sounded fabulous, and I had eaten them before---DELISH! They should have called them "Tiny Bits O' Fish Bait and KRAB Slop with Over-Cooked Vegetables Covered in OIL on Tortillas"---YUK! They had funnel cakes, chicken-on-a-stick, Chinese food---but nothing to eat that would be worth calling the event the Seafood Festival. We left right after that---about a 45 minute drive back home.

Sorry for the rant. . .thanks for your eyes ;).

So it'll be just DH and me sitting on the couch eating REAL seafood and watching a Netflix movie---now that really DOES sound great :)!

:wave2:

No cookout here today either. I worked all day and don't have a grill anymore either. It's just me and Kelsea watching the neighborhood fireworks and trying to soothe Maxie.

You guys crack me up: RAIN in the summer?! That's a rarity around here.

DH & I went to our town's parade this AM - found a spot in the shade - it was great! We came home and watched the Giants'/A's game on TV - barbequed chicken and we'll be off to watch the fireworks soon. Not sure what we'll be doing tomorrow.

(oops - I realized the OP asked who WASN'T doing something for the 4th - I guess I'm thinking since it was just DH & I, that we didn't have a "big bash" - very low-key.)

We went to Target (which was empty) and that was about it-- we did swim alittle off and on in between rain showers. My family is having a party on the beach tonight but I hate it there-- so we didn't go. Too many drunks and drunks shooting off fireworks. I would be too stressed to enjoy it so we are staying home while DS (11) is pouting because he wants to go to the beach.
