I'm in shock at the sort of figures you're laughing about there!
It's a while since I've had an overnight stay in hospital, but the most recent I remember is when my DD had her adenoids removed and grommets put in her ears about 11 years ago, when she was only 4.
We were given a private room with a child's bed and an adult bed, I was staying the night with her while she recovered. DH & I went into theatre while they knocked her out. I was served a meal (which I couldn't eat, too stressed!) before she came back from surgery. DD had Jello & ice-cream some time after she woke up. We both were given a light meal that evening, and breakfast the following morning.
I know insurance covered it and I had to pay an exclusion of a couple of hundred euros, but the total hospital, theatre, surgeon's bills were under 1,500.
Prices have moved upwards quite a bit here since 1995, but I hope we're a long, long way from USA bills!
Hope you're A1 real soon, Pembo!
