5520 and 5020

chris, do you have any pics? i've seen the threads of pics with 5020 but none of 5520. we'll be in 5520 next sept and I'd sure love to see "our" room!;)

No, I don't have pictures - haven't developed them yet. But I know I saw a picture of 5520 on this cruise board. Perhaps if you do a search for "5520" you can find it. I believe it was a mom and her daughter in the pictures. There were at least 2 pictures of the two parts of the room.

Hi! We are on the 3 night Wonder cruise in Nov. 2005. We are staying in room 5024 which is also a SPR. Is the view very obstructed? Does anyone have any info on this stateroom? Thank you!:D

WDWFan:
We are also booked in 5024, but for the 10/23/05 4 day Wonder.
From the research I have done, it appears that the view from this stateroom is the most obstructed. There is a barrel just outside the window, but you do get daylight and can see at least a little of the ocean. Friends who are traveling with us have 5022 and it has very little obstruction. If we want to look at the ocean from inside, we'll just sit in their room with them. I'll have to bring along my rum though.:p

381 days and counting:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

chris, i think you might be referring to perdidobay's pics above? those were of 5020, i think. I know they are supposed to be the same, but i'd sure love to see 5520 if anyone has them.;)

perdido bay and any one else who has stayed in 5020-

What size suitcase(s) can you fit under the bed and how many of them?

I had read another thread where people were saying that they couldn't fit anything under their beds (different stateroom).

I want to make sure that we bring suitcases that will fit.

Thanks,
Susan

Well, I think you are correct that the photos I was thinking of are of 5020 and not 5520. But I just looked at those photos again, and 5020 seems to be a mirror image of 5520. I will try to get my photos developed this week and see if I can figure out how to post them here if they turn out well. I didn't take the photos with this in mind, so I'm not sure they will show everything - but I'll try!

Susan, the bags we put under the beds were 28x20x8. I put one under each bed. I think I may have had a shorter bag under there too. I hope that info helps!

I would imagine 5520 looks just like 5020 does. They are in the exact same place...just on the opposite sides of the ship.
The obstruction of the window looks to be the same too.
I will be in 5520 next April... I'll know for sure then! I'll hopefully see clori's photos in Jan. :D

We put bags inside each other. I think that we had 4 total with carryons too. We lifted up the bed frame to slide them underneath. We also kept the stroller under there folded up.

Thanks chris!:earsgirl: :earsboy: I guess I'm just so excited, I can't wait to see "our" room!:hyper: No rush. I would sure love to see anyone who has pics. Glad to hear both rooms look very similar. Barb's website had me wondering.

I'm not normally a complainer but,
Our SPR was just worn out and needed a major overhaul. They had to replace the mattress after my first night aboard without sleep, it felt like there was rock in it. Also the sofa was so dirty I wouldn't sit on it without putting a towel on it first.
I could hear drip, drip, drip, that drove me nuts. On the second morning I couldn't stand the noise anymore plus I was starting to smell something funky, like sewage.
I hated to call and complain again but I sure wasn't sleep in that room one more night.
Come to find out they had a major plumbing problem going on behind the wall.
They moved us to a Cat 8, but the folks in the stateroom opposite of ours being 5024 got upgraded to a Cat 4.

If that light does bother you call Guest Service and ask to have it turned off at night. They did it for us.

Ginger- Sorry that happened to you. I guess after so many guests, things start to get worn out. Glad to hear that they were able to move you...good thing the ship wasn't 100% full.

perdido bay and lbgraves- Thank you for the suitcase info.:teeth:

Go to ************************ and click on secret porthole rooms. They have pictures of all views from each room. The best unobstructed seem to be 5020 and 5520. Hope this helps.

Henlady, thank you for the info! :D I just checked back on the boards after being off for 2 days. That figures that it is the most obstructed, but you can't beat the price! Oh well, maybe I'll think about upgrading, but it is only for 3 nights. Yes, at least we'll get daylight.

Thanks again!!:D
