Well, if you lost it, it was not meant to be your perfect house. You have to look at it that way or you will go nuts! Your perfect house is out there; just give it time! Good luck and keep us posted!

Make sure your realtor stays current with that listing, even if it went under contract. Deals fall thru all the time (our neighbor just sold his house for the second time in three months!) and if you are quick you might get to snatch it up. We saw our current home and fell in love with it, then it was taken off the market that day because their sale fell thru. We made sure our realtor kept in touch and let the owners know we wanted the house. We eventually bought it without it ever going back in the market. Good luck!

That's the exact same thing that keeps happening to my DD and her DH.. So far they have found three perfect dream houses and every single time the house is sold before they can get a bid in.. Two weren't even on the open market yet!

It's crazy how fast the houses are selling..:(

houses in our neighborhood sell b4 the signs go up. We bought
ours by bidding $100 over an hour after DH saw the realtor
hammering sign in the ground. Keep vigilant, you will find your
house. We drove the neighborhood every morning around 10am.

Do you think I went about it the right way?
I think that's fine, what you did.

In order to help ease the pain, think about if you saw the house and, you found something really wrong.....listings can be SOOOO deceiving. Just set your mind that it wasn't the right house....THAT house is still waiting for you. ;)

MY dream houses ALL had something wrong with them also and, one comes to mind actually but, you have to remember the WRONG and, move on.

My house right now is NOT my dream house but, it was dh's. Now, 10 years later, I'M the one seeing to it that updates and improvements are made. Make sure it's right for YOU! ;) It's out there! :sunny:

The market is certainly crazy! My home in FL sold in one day. The first day it was listed, the first guy that walked through the door at 8:30 a.m.! We had a contract two hours later!! :Pinkbounc

It took me two weeks (short, I know) to find the home I bought. It will be a week ago tomorrow that I closed. :Pinkbounc It wasn't even on the market. I'm not sure how my realtor heard about it. But the lady selling it was a realtor herself. I was the first to see it. I knew it was the right place when I was seeing it! Thank goodness, because I didn't have that feeling with the first home I saw. This one was the second. My realtor told the woman I wanted it and what did we have to do to get it! :teeth: She ended up calling 4 others who had appointments to see it that evening! :Pinkbounc I saw it on a Thursday, gave a deposit that she wanted by 6 that night, was in the seller's bank by 4:30 contacting my bank to get things going. It moved FAST! Then closed on Weds. We got held up by the banks. I hear that's typical. But it's mine! Woooooooooo hoooooooooo! Hang in there!!!!!!

Oh! The day after I had signed the contract and gave a deposit, my realtor called and said that one of the other people interested had offered the seller $10,000 more than I was paying! She told them no, she already had a buyer! Wooo hoooo! :Pinkbounc I paid the price they wanted without even trying to get it for lower. My realtor said that houses were going the same day they hit the market and that they were going for MORE than the listed price because more people are looking than what is available.

Disney Princess 6,

I would call the discount broker and ask if the sellers would consider a back up offer. Then let your realtor show the house to you.

Please, please, please get a home inspection done before you close on a house. It may not seem like your dream house once a certified general contractor tells you all of the things that need to be repaired.

Lori

Please come buy mine! I've had it on the market for 3 months. Real estate is slow in this area. I really wanted to sell this house before I move to Florida, but that may not happen. Sorry, you missed out on the house you wanted!

don't worry - you'll find your real dream home!

we put our house on the market and it sold VERY quickly...for the asking price.

we THOUGHT we had found our dream home...put a bid in, got outbid, that fell through, we put a second bid in, and THAT got outbid.

it just wasn't met to be.

then...before we left to look at one property, we were browsing on realtor.com...and found our dream home. It had just been posted that day. We put a deposit on it that day...8 months later the house was finished and we moved in.

and we love this house 100times more then we could love the other one we THOUGHT we wanted. :)

best of luck to you.
