We have a router also and this happens. We just unplug everything and it seems to fix itself. Sometimes it is worse than others.

Sorry...can't help but just wanted to let you know, you are not alone!!

We're running the Linysys and the desktop is usually getting knocked off but yesterday it was the laptop too. I've been told it may be because of the walls (CBC) but it's very annoying.

That would be great, floridafam. I was disconnected about 5 times today.

Kind of frustrating.

If you had spilled Coke on it in the past, CRB, or the modem, and it blew out connections, maybe get a new router. I do unplug my router and replug about once a week, though am not getting disconnected, just slow.

Ours does the same thing. It really is annoying isn't it? Especially since we have over $200 in the system. We just upgraded to the Linksys Wireless - G. If I had my way, I'd take it back. Worthless pretty much sums it up.

Dh said he would type more after he finishes studying-about 8pm

He said something about your modem going off line and doing something to the router but I don't remember it word for word.

Did Comcast replace the wiring on the outside of your house?

Is this a new modem?

IF possible, try to upgrade the router's firmware. There should be instructions that came with the router itself, or on the manufacturer's website.

If this doesn't work, try a new cable connecting the router and the cable modem. This sometimes, for some reason, fixes the problem.

Hope this helps! :earsboy: :earsboy:
