We inherited a 52" rear projection TV. It works fine and I have the remote. My question is what to do with it. I put it on Craigslist today. Will anyone want to buy it? Will Good Will take it?

What about your local womens shelter or some place like a the Ronald McDonald house? That is if your looking just to get rid of it and maybe get a tax ride off. Some of those places probably would even come and pick it up.

I sold one similar a year or so ago and got either $150 or $200...can't remember now, but it sold quickly once I put the ad on craigslist.

We took our 50 inch to Goodwill. They took it no problem and gave us a tax receipt.

If it works fine, you can sell it for a couple hundred dollars or you can donate it to charity and get a write off for $500-$600. Some charity places will come and pick it up.

ebay does a local pick up only listings. It might get a little bit of attention there too.

We donated the one that came with our house to a Church's Youth Group. :) Worked out great because they sent a pack of teenage boys to carry it out of the house

We got rid of a 57" Rear Projection HDTV on Craig's list earlier this year for $175.

It really wasn't that hard to sell, now getting it up the stairs and out of the basement so we could actually get rid of it....was another story!!

Take the guts out of it, then install a disney themed scene of your choice. Make it as simple or as fancy as your like. Either way I think it could be a fun family activity :)

Wait, wait, "tax ride off" ? What is that?

Well one full day on Craig's list and no inquiries . I am asking $150. Maybe that's too much. Gonna give it a couple of weeks. It's a shame it really has a pretty good picture. I mean nothing like today's tv's. It would look great in an 80's retro basement!

Happy to report a very nice young couple bought it! I thought they were just coming to see the picture. Well I never got to even change the channel when they started unhooking everything to take it out! They said " Price is right"! I hope they enjoy it. They looked very excited. :santa:
