50th Anniversary

We will be going on cruise in June to celebrate our parents 50th anniversary!!

Anyone have any ideas of something special

What cruise? If new ships Remy on that night, if older ships Magic and Wonder then Palo dinner. Wear a badge/ button, and do inform DCL on the online reservation, special events.
In room gifts are a nice idea, also we got celebration cards sent to the port handlers on that day and were delivered to the room.

Door decorations are a must. Special t (or sweat) shirts. Check at Guest Services for special pins, etc.

We cruised for my parents 50th in 2004. I got one of their wedding photos and had a copy make into a magnet with a bunch of anniversary stuff around it. My dad kept saying "the first 40 years are the hardest".

You could order the photobook from Shutters choosing pictures from the cruise. They will create it and send it to your home.

Remy is an add on, adult restaurant. Yes additional charge, but something very memorable.

You will have to make reservations adhead of time, re cost, you could call disney if they would do that, or credit their on board account with the cost.

We don't drink alcohol, and Remy doesn't "insist" that you imbibe. Instead of a pre-dinner apertif, they brought us glass of mixed-fruit juice that was really good.

As for payment, you can go to guest services and switch the charges to your account, either before or after your parents' dinner.

Yes, I used it for door decoration. I did it myself...got a copy made and put it on magnet paper I got at a copy store. This was 14 years ago but I'm sure they still sell it. I hid it in my own bag and then put it on my parents' door.

You can order a special cake in advance for a fee. This can make those 17 and under feel included since they are not allowed into Palo and Remy.
