if I eat dinner at the bar can I use my dinning plan. I would assume it’s a sit down meal? My family are eating at scifi but they couldn’t add one more when I decided to join them. So I’m looking for a place to enjoy dinner by myself and use a sit down credit?

Yes. 50s Prime Time Cafe is a Table Service restaurant.

Even though they couldn't add you to the ADR, try just showing up with them. Often, the host can add a +1 to the reservation upon check in.

It will depend upon the size of your party, and the table you would get. If the +1 results in you getting the same table anyway, they will be happy to seat you (for example, going from a 3 to a 4, or a 5 to a 6).

If you would need a bigger table, then they might let you, anyway, depending upon how busy/backed up they are.

But do not expect to be accommodated. On the other hand, have you tried a reservation for one (or two) very close to that same time?

I have tried for a reservation for 1 it's booked up. And I understand that Primetime is a one credit table service restaurant, I was wondering if I can use my table service credit to eat at the bar? I would never expect to be just let in to SciFi I just want to have a plan-- I don't want to leave a table service hanging at the end of my trip.

Oh, I missed the bar part. I have no clue if that would count as a TS credit or not as I've never eaten at a bar before.

How many are in the party for Sci-Fi? Adding one more may be fine if there is room in the car. They will have to allot a certain number of rows anyway.

Otherwise, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to use the Dining Plan when eating at the bar. I mean, I'm no expert on the Dining Plan, but you're eating at the restaurant, so why should it matter?

We would go from 4 to 5 and that could be the problem -- 3 to 4, 5 to 6 would be easier. but 5 hummers'.

I would think so but...

DH and I tried stopping into Tune-In Lounge (50s PT bar) twice on our trip two weeks ago. Both times it was packed. No seats available, and we even hung out in the seating area for a bit hoping for one to open up and it never did. What time is their ADR? You may have better luck at 50's bar if its between meals. But in that case, your luck at Sci Fi will increase if its between meals too.

If you can't get a seat at sci fi, you could probably get a last minute reservation at h&v.

Also, try touring plans adr finder to get the scifi adr you are going for

According to Disney's site, dining plans are not accepted in the lounge. That is pretty much the rule of thumb at all the lounges on property even if they are attached to a TS.
