Just how much to the waitress/waiters harass you at the Prime Time restaurant? We like to have fun and kid around but not to the point where they are interrupting our meal every ten minutes.

And, I can never clean my plate nor can my 12 year old. I just can't do it and neither can he.

I also was wondering how the food was.

Thanks in advance!

We were there in August. Our server was Tim. He spoon fed my 35 y/o sister her collard greens :lmao: He was a great server, but I remember feeling like, ok, that's enough with the antics.

I think the atmosphere was great, especially the living room, but the food was very unimpressive, there's nothing I'd go back for and we were a party of 9 ordering almost one of everything on their menu, including 2 kids meals. The chicken soup was the best I thought.

I'm glad we went - but we wouldn't return. Just my .02

I went there last April with my daughters and niece (16,17 & 19). All in all the waitress was nice but the whole thing got alittle annoying after awhile. My daughter got really mad when the waitress grabbed her cell phone and told her boyfriend not to bother her because she shouldn't be on the phone while she is eating. He had just called to see if we made it down to Florida since we had just arrived like 4 hours prior to eating. That probably set the mood for the rest of the meal and all the girls were ready to leave. The food was ok, nothing exciting. We will not be going back this April. We really enjoyed Whispering Canyon though which is the same kind of fun environment but not so much in your face.

I have had servers who really got into the spirit of things and others who didn't at all. Last time we had a very cute waitress, she really had fun hamming it up with my 14 year old son who was thrilled. My daughter hardly ever gets bothered, she's very shy. I do think they try to sort of guage the personalities of the patrons and respond accordingly as much as possible.

We enjoy Prime Time, my son gets into it, my daughter enjoys watching him get into it, dh and I think the food is okay, nothing special except for the chicken pot pie which I really like and is only served at lunch.

Honestly, my favorite place to eat at DHS is Sci Fi. Very good burgers, shakes, a nice steak salad, decent ribs and its very quiet and relaxing. The whole place is riveted to the screen. Its well themed but in a relaxing way that lets you enjoy and observe without being spoon fed your veggies! I prefer lunch, its cheaper. And I have to say, this restaurant is always full, but I hear very few kids crying. They are too entertained to cry!

We have been a few times and sometimes they are in your face with the schtick and other times they are not into it at all.

Tell your hostess if you want the full monty treatment or if you want them to back off, they are very accommodating.

Of all the times we have been there, never have they been to 'in your face'. We have always had great food, and great (and funny) service

I'm beginning to think I need to stick with our favorite, Sci-Fi. I am from Louisiana and collard greens are on a lot of our menus down here. But, I will puke if somebody spoon fed collard greens to me!:headache:

It's all in how you respond to the server. I recently went there with my in-laws and an aunt. Right from the beginning, my mother-in-law made it clear she didn't want to be there. The server took notice (she was slightly "frosty" at the atmosphere) and didn't bother us at all. He "played" with the other tables around us, especially one with a family who really wanted the attention. Right next to us was a mother/daughter team and they just ate, talked to the server and then left. So it really is how you want the interaction to be.

I've eaten there several times with various groups. Some were playful and, obviously, the last time was not. Each server responded accordingly.

We go every trip.
All the servers we have had have been pretty good judges of what the poeople want. Some just want to be left alone and eat and watch what is going on around them, others want to really get into it and be involved in all the antics.
We have had "fiesty" servers that new to leave some people alone and play a lot with the others.
The food is soo good too, so definitely worth going, imo

We love Prime Time!!!!! It's on our must-eat list :).

We always get just the right amount of interaction and I think the pot roast is pretty awesome :thumbsup2 ....and the huge sundae!!!!

I dunno...we're a pretty fun-loving family so it's right up there on our list of favorite Disney memories.

We are also a big 50s Prime Time booster having eaten there our last three trips and we plan to next year too! The food is just okay, comfort food that isn;t horrible but doesn't make you go holy cow I must have more!
We love the atmosphere and I agree with pp that the servers are usually good judges of how much to push it. If you haven't done it, it is worth doing at least once.

My DH and I had a great meal there. We thought the menu was really interesting in that it had a lot of creative choices. It wasn't just typical diner fare like you would imagine a place like this could have. The food was delicious and we had a lot of fun with the waitress. She was not annoying at all, rather like a sweet ol' mom. I def. plan to make an ADR there for our trip in April.

We've had servers do nothing, go all out, and be somewhere in the middle. It's really hard to say, it all depends.

We were at the Prime-time on 11/5 with a family that has never eaten there before. I begged our waiter Josh to play it up for the family and he was such a dud, he did nothing I was so disappointed after talking up the place to our freinds. They really enjoyed the food so they were not unhappy but I sure was. FYI if you ask to sub corn for the collard greens they will do it no problem.

I was going to go there with my DF on our honeymoon however it is not the place for newleyweeds to be we well just go another time I dunno what do u think is it a place for newlyweds and we well have the bridel mikey hat and the top hat so mabe they well change the way they well treat us

Ok, I've read the some waiters play it up and other not so much. Does a waiter back off if they see that the kids are uncomfortable or does he keep up with it trying to get them to come around. My kids (really depending on mood) can bereally stand-offish and I don't want their meals ruined by a waiter that doesn't get it...even if I ask him to back off. By the way my kids are 3princess: & 5pirate: .

We just ate there on Thursday and loved it. The atmosphere was fun and the servers were excellent. Several tables around us were being "razzed" a little but our waitress was low key. She did "pick" on my mom a few times about the elbows on the table...it was fun. We had several of things and we all loved them. The fried chicken was amazing...and the portions were HUGE!!

We were there yesterday for lunch and had no problem at all. It was just like any other restaurant outside of disney. We were not hassled at all.

They seem to focus more on older kids and adults. My five year old can be shy and sensitive and I was a little worried but our server left her alone. I did not seeing any young children being involved. We really liked the food (we were there for lunch) and the atmosphere. They seem to know who to pick on - our server tied a little mermaid bib around the neck of my dad who is quite the joker (and 6'3" and 61 years old so the photo of him with the bib on is pretty priceless to us). We would go back here!
