Hello... this upcoming vacation were havein trouble deciding between the two... Our party will consist of 5 adults 2 children... We have never been to either so have no idea what to expect... If ya have been to either what did ya think? Thanks!!!

definitely Prime Time.

Sci Fi is fun if you go for burgers and shakes but I wouldn't do another meal there. Plus, the way the seating is in "the cars" you can't really sit conversationally.. you are in rows of 2 facing forward.

And, with your party size you might actually not be in a car.. you might be in a table in the middle of the place or the back in picnic tables.

Have not been to either but 50's looks BORING as compaired to Sci-Fi thats why we choose Sci-Fi, HECK YEA you get to sit in cars!!!! :thumbsup2
When I was making our ADR's the CM mentioned to me that Sci-Fi was the hardest ADR to get in HS, go for it I think your kids would like it better!!!!

My heart is filled with joy because I get to go back to 50's Prime Time this September! :lovestruc

I've never been to SciFi so I can't compare them. For many years SciFi had bad food reviews. I've heard better things lately, but still people mostly say just go if you are looking for burgers and shakes.

You really can't go wrong with either one, we love them both. Sci Fi has the edge with us though. We prefer the lunch menu there and go for the burgers, shakes and onion rings! Have fun! :thumbsup2

Prime Time is good food & fun. We never miss this one.
Si-Fi it's cool in there but since they changed there dinner menu we won't go back. Lunch is good at Si-Fi.

I prefer Prime Time because I think the food at Sci-Fi is terrible, and I enjoy the "show" at Prime Time.

But, I do like the atmosphere at Sci Fi, so what am going to do this year is plan lunch at Prime Time, and go to Sci Fi to get a shake!

i was between the two but figured my kids would very much enjoy sci fi better and it seems tougher to get a ressie sometimes. The only thing that got me about 50's was the fried chicken which i heard was very good.

Both are fun for kids. If you choose sci fi, you will need to reserve 2 cars for a party of seven. When friends of hours went in April, they had a party of 6 adults and a 1 yo. Even though they felt they could "fit" all 7 in one car, they were required to reserve 2 because their party was larger than 6. The food at 50s Prime Time is good and the servers are alot of fun.

I've eaten at both many times, and prefer Prime Time. I give an edge to Sci-Fi for atmosphere, but the food is much much better at prime Time.

We have done both, and our choice is Primetime! We are going there for our third time in August, then I am going again in October with my sister!! I love it there.... we have had such great interaction with our servers... and we have wonderful memories from both trips there! I hope to make many more in the future!

The food is delicious (Smores dessert... need I say more?).... much better than Sci Fi, IMO. The Fried Chicken is wonderful, and so is the meat loaf!

We were displeased with the seating arrangments at Sci Fi, and it was SO dark and cold in there... we couldn't see our food at all, and we couldn't enjoy it since we were freezing!!

We really didn't care for the food at Primetime. I don't really care to go back there again.

The burgers and shakes are good at Sci Fi - my DF loves them so we go there every trip. It's nothing spectacular though. It's fun to watch the old cartoons.

Hi. We switched from Sci-Fi to 50's Primetime because of the seating and lack of ability to see each other! I think it's a cool in the drive-in but definitely not if you want to talk to each other.

We're going to the 50's for my birthday lunch and I'm excited about the fun and atmosphere. We couldn't get the party feeling in Sci-Fi.

We have been to both and love both!

Sci Fi for lunch, great burgers and onion rings, super quiet atmosphere but I dont know if they will seat you at a large non car table or split you into 2 cars.

50's Prime Time, awesome food, real kitschy atmosphere, if the servers are really into the teasing and playing around it is so much fun!

We are looking forward to trying Primetime on our trip in Nov, especially interested in trying the PB&J milkshakes!

As for Sci-Fi, I did not care for it. I ordered the "safe" burger, and it was burnt to a crisp. I didn't send it back because my mom was already annoyed that she was sitting in front of us and unable to join in any conversation without turning around. It was SOOO dark, and the little table space you get when eating in the car was so claustrophobic to me. It is really, really dark (ie, I had to literally take a pic of my food with the flash to see what I was eating!). Most people enjoy the atmosphere more than the food, but both were a turn-off for me.

With your odd-sized party, someone will likely be in one bench seat by themselves, with no one to talk to unless they turn their back. Even if you configure it so that everyone is sitting with someone, you certainly won't be eating as a "group".

We will only return here if it's just DD and I, and she begs me. But I don't think she cared one way or the other, and her pizza was straight from the microwave. Blech!

50's Prime Time, HANDS DOWN. I thought that Sci-fi was fun, especially that i AM a fan of old 50's monster/sci-fi movies. And the drive-in thing was cute, but it just doesn't beat out 50's Prime time in food and entertainment with the server.

We went to Sci-fi when on our honeymoon, but I wasn't impressed. After the novelty wears out, you’re only left with a dark odd restaurant with run-of-the-mill food.

I'm looking forward to trying 50's Prime Time this trip out.

We love 5o's primetime! Sci- fi is fun but the menu doesn't appeal to my DD. We went there last trip just for milkshakes and a sanck in the late afternoon but it cost us as much as a meal so we won't do that again.:hippie:

MickeyNicki just posted a good review from 50's PTC. I was just at SciFi and, while the theme is cute, I probably wouldn't go back for the food.
