50's Prime Time or Sci Fi Dine In??

My DH and I are trying to decide where to eat while at MGM: 50's Prime Time Cafe or Sci Fi Dine In Theater. We have two DDs, ages 2 and 1. Which one would you choose and why? Thanks for your help!

We like 50's Prime Time better than Sci Fi. Last time we ate dinner at Sci fi, the food was almost inedible and the service was slow. We have always had good food and service at 50's Prime Time. We just had lunch there 2 weeks ago and had a good time. There were lots of kids there, all ages. Just my two cents.

The food quality at 50's is FAR superior! Also SciFi is very dark inside, and some of the movies might be a little frightening.

I'd pick 50's over SciFi any time. SciFi was cool, but the food, cast and atmosphere are great at 50's. The food is probably "safer" for your kids, since it is all comfort food and likely to be something that you serve at home. And I bet they would LOVE the PB&J shake (I know I do!!)

My family loved the Sci Fi!!! My husband fell in love with it. He said Disney needed more of those kinds of places for kids. We had a 10,8,4,and 2 year old last December, and they were all mesmorized!! The theming is awesome and they never made a sound!! And my 4 and 2 are usually wild after about 10 minutes. It was also some good food in our opinion, much better than what we had at 50's Prime Time Cafe. At the Sci Fi, I had a reuben sandwich that was out of this world, and my husband had some kind of chicken sandwich that he loved also. At 50's , we had fried chicken and meatloaf and thought it was okay and our server was into her role, but my kids got nothing out of it. We will always eat at the Sci-Fi but probably won't go back to 50's Prime Time. We are very picky about the quality of food we eat and I definately think you would like something at Sci-Fi and so would your kids, especially those ages. I think they will be awestruck at the starry sky and the movie and tv clips that they show. Just my opinion! Thanks!

We ate in both restaurants on the same day when we were in WDW in January, and I have to say, for two little ones, I think they'd love the Sci Fi. Just eating in the cars will be fun for them!
We thoroughly enjoyed both places and had good food in each, but for little ones, I think the Sci Fi wins hands down!

With the ages of your children I would opt for 50's Prime Time. We just got back on Sunday and had a group of 15 with us ranging in age from 2 to 72 and we had a great meal at the SCI FI. There is nothing wrong with the food or the service, especially if you get there at 11 AM when it opens. But if I had to choose, because of the ages of your kids, definitely the Prime time cafe would be a good choice!

The only reason to go to the sci fi with kids is if you want them to be quiet for a while!!!! If you put a kid in front of a tv show they have never seen and dim the lights they will sit and be quiet and eat... (most of the time anyway!)
DH and I just sat there in silence since we felt funny talking during the movie clips.
We have not been to the prime time cafe yet, but plan to go next trip! We have always wanted to go, but could never find it!!! (we didn't look very hard.!)

If you like bland food and getting screamed at by the help, then by all means go to the 50's Prime Time.

If you like good food, great atmosphere and nice servers, then go to the Sci Fi.

I would definitely go to 50's PTC! The food is many times better than Sci-Fi.

However, Sci-Fi does do great milkshakes. What my DW and I do is have a meal at 50's (lunch or dinner) and make a mid-afternoon stop at Sci-Fi to share a shake. That way we get to experience the great atmosphere at Sci-Fi and have the wonderful food at 50's.

we aren't big fans of "comfort food" so have never tried the 50's prime time cafe. we love the sci-fi though!

These are both very good places. Sci fi has cool cars and good food, PTC has a more interactive staff and good home cooking. We visit both often, PTC more often. You can't go wrong with either, but for your kids, I would vote for PTC.

I would definitely pick the Sci-Fi, even though both offer great atmospheres...I guess I just like the food at the Sci-Fi better (and I know I'm probably alone on that one! lol)

Yeah we're all about the Sci Fi Diner as well.

We got a kick out of the B-rated monster films and the milkshakes are indeed killer! And something about the notion of eating in a midget car is just halarious to me.
