We are heading to WDW on 12/11. 1st DS will be 4 and 2nd DS will be 9 months old when our trip comes around. I made an ADR for 12/11 (our arrival day) for dinner AFTER the 6:30 showing of Fantasmic! I'm wondering if I should cancel the ADR since it's our travel day and I'm worried the kids might be over tired. Is it worth the risk?

It is a really good place to eat but may be late for such little ones. The noise is deafening with all the families and antics going on with the wait staff. This may be too much so late. Can you go another day?

For young kids, it's not something I would equate with a "Character Meal". The interaction with the CMs might be lost on them, so I would not make it key piece of my dining experience at Disney.

I think I may just skip it. I may gage it on how the day goes and if the kids seem to be dragging, then I will run in and cancel the ADR. I don't want to over whelm them on the first day. DS #1 has been twice already and he's pretty good with handling crowds, just not sure how DS #2 will deal.

I would also suggest you skip it. Esp since theyre so young. And as you said, it will be quite late and since you arrive that day, they might be tired.

in a word? no.

kids just miss the themeing. They dont understand the campy 50s stuff and most havent seen ozzie and harriet or anything like it... so they have no clue. The food isnt fantastic either. My kids didnt enjoy it at all.

I have to agree about the food. Its not that great. But i've only tried the fried chicken, and i found it VERY salty. Table next to us said the same.

I would plan on having some snacks during the show and then maybe pick up something quick and simple from Captain Cook's to eat in the room while unpacking, getting everyone to bed, etc.

I just ate there for the first time 2 weeks ago, with 2 friends. One of my friends who is a CM this is one of her favorite places. I was less than impressed. It was ok, and the glowing alcoholic drinks were great but the food was eh. I am really not a picky eater, but dont really like anything on their dinner menu. I ended up getting the fried chicken (and I really dont like fried foods), and just peeled the fried part off and ate the chicken. The milkshakes we got for dessert were really good though. Probably wont eat here again, unless there arent any other options.
