50's Prime Time Cafe

I called last night to make a PS for the 50's Prime Time Cafe for Jan. 30th and was able to no problem. I was reading today on another board that is may be closed from Jan. 17-31. Does anyone know if this is true? I did not have the most confidence in the CM I spoke to so I'm not sure I really have a PS...thanks for your help!

That is odd. I tried to get dinner there for 1/31 and was told they were closed for refurbishments. You might call and check again, let me know what you find out.

jennymouse- I just called to check on our PS for Jan. 30th and the CM I spoke to said we are all set....it is open. She said if it were closed the system would not even allow her to make the PS. I asked if she had any information on when it might be closed and she said that as of right now, there are no plans for it to be closed. I'd try back again for a PS on the 31st...good luck and hope this helps!

I had wanted to have lunch at Prime Time on the 17th (our last day) but hadn't tried for a PS as I thought it was going to be closed. When I saw this thread I called and checked and they there was no closing listed. I was able to make a lunch PS on the 17th. I would encourage anyone wanting a PS during the time originally listed as closed for refurbishment to go ahead and call.

Thanks for the info! I will call and try to make a ressie since it is my son's #1 request of restaurants. I told him that it will be closed and he was very disappointed. If I am able to get a PS I will not tell my son so he won't be disappointed all over again if it really ends up being closed.

That is good news. I had heard they were closed and I called the dining number and the CM checked and said, yes they were closed for 2 weeks (17-31). So I made a couple of PS for the 15th & 16th. Maybe the refurb. plans have been changed. I called last month, so maybe this is new news. (I did think it a little poor planning when they decided to close during the busy week of MLK weekend.) Maybe I'll be able to rearrange my PS again (after just chaning them last week when the EMH changed--AGAIN.)

We too had originally wanted to have lunch here, but was told about the closure. Yesterday I called to confirm our PS's and just happened to ask the CM about that and her reply was "those dates are available" so we switched things around and are ready to roll.

I'm so glad everyone was able to get a PS!!! It's one of my favorite places to eat so I would have been very disappointed if it was closed during our stay.....

Thanks everyone !! Found this thread on a search because the same thing just happened to me!! Called last month to make a reservation at Prime Time for DSs b'day trip (one of his faves !) and was told they would be closed ! Then they added EMH for the sunday we check in, so was calling to change PS to MGM that night - was booking at Sci Fi and mentioned that we were disappointed not to be eating at Prime Time - she said it was available - I kept making her double check and was checking here to make sure she didn't make a mistake (trust the DIS more than the CMs) - Yeaaah !! I'm definitely going to surprise DS with this one !
