50's Prime Time Cafe

The pot roast was one of my favorite meals of my entire trip! I liked it better than my filet at Le Cellier!!!

Reading this thread is making us a feel a LOT better about our ADR here. We went to Sci-Fi last time and while we both loved the atmosphere, we both though the food was like sub-par Applebee's. We're excited for out PTC experience now, so thanks all! :)

Sorry...that is my first post of pics.

There is an adult version of the chicken nuggets for $9.99, a $19.99 Mom's Sampler with fried chicken, greens, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, pot roast, and vegetables. Delicious, but was wayyyyyy more food than it looks. I could barely make a dent.

Desserts were the SMORES (loved the marshmallow part, but the chocolate sauce was really weak and thin) and the Sundae which was delicious but very, very rich :)

Our server Janice was AWESOME! Our table and the surrounding others were all tattling on each other for breaking the rules (elbows on the table, using the phone, etc)

We really enjoyed our experience here!

That sampler platter looks delish, I would consider that if they had it during our next trip - was that during dinner time?
Can somebody tell me when lumch switches to dinner, I've looked on the AllEars menu, but didn't see times listed.

I had the sampler platter a couple weeks ago. It's a tonne of food. Luckily I have a son that likes beans, otherwise I'd have been chastised by the waiter.

Your allowed to substitute the yucky greens for something better, like corn. Which is what i did. I had the fried chicken and didnt think it was very good. it was soooo salty....table next to us said the same thing! I wouldnt order that again if i go back. i'd probably try the meatloaf instead. Antics at this place is hilarious, I would go back moreso for the antics than the food.

Most all resturants switch over at 4pm.

LOVE the 50s PTC! We have to go everytime. DD won't go anywhere else at DHS. She has had to set the table, go wash up before dinner, and always gets in "trouble" for putting her elbows on the table. :rotfl:
Those pictures were making me so hungry! Can't wait till we go in Aug!

We love 50's PT as well and are going again in May. One tip I will give to you for your kids are have them go in the bathroom to wash there hands. The CM might ask them what color the soap is. It does change if they get it wrong they will be sent to the bathroom :rotfl: we watched a family being asked and the 2 kids were sent to the bathroom they both guessed wrong. My DD had just went well we were waiting and knew it was blue....

I totally agree. In fact, last time we were there, as the waiter set down my chicken, he told me, "At this place you always gotta finish your veggies, but you have the greens, and they are disgusting. I'll let you slide." I tried them, and he was 100% right. I usually love greens, but these were terrible!

lol!!!!

I just wonder if they will continue to offer the sampler? I would love to get it when we go in June. My fingers are crossed!!

Food is delicious, but come hungry and be weary to complain! lol ...The waitress hand-fed my sister her uneaten mushrooms last trip and gave her a dunce cap made from a napkin and drawn on with crayons lol. Food really is quite good though, and it's a fun experience :woohoo:

Is the sampler plate offered at lunch? I didn't see it on either menu. :confused3

It's on both lunch and dinner menus on WDW's website.

Wow...I can't wait try this place.

I have an ADR for my DD B-Day Sept 1st. Does anyone have any feedback (or warnings) as to what to expect when there is a birthday being celebrated?

My DD is already worried about leaving her elbows on the table :)

Thanks Shannon for the info on the sampler plate. :thumbsup2
I can never make up my mind between those three choices anyway so this is perfect!!!

Every Disney fan should try 50's Prime Time Cafe at least once. It's a quintessential Disney experience. The food is acceptable, and the atmosphere makes up for any shortcomings. A lot of folks on these boards say the quality of your meal is based mostly on the server waiting on your table. I agree to an extent, but in my experience, the zaniness is most dependent on the diners' playfulness and willingness to act silly. Don't expect the server to provide the antics. Let the server know you're there to play with your own behavior.
