I think this place sounds like fun. I'm thinking of doing lunch here. I tried doing a search to find some reviews but couldn't find anything :confused3 Not sure if the search feature just isn't working ??? So, does anyone have an opinion of the food? Sounds like it's sort of old fashioned homestyle cooking which is ok with me and I think my dMom will love the choices as long as the food is good. So what do you think- is it yummy or is it mostly the fun atmosphere you like??? Thanks!

I had the steak and was not impressed. I think I'd have appreciated the food more if I'd had pot roast or something. I thought my food was dry and I'd guess that the roast wouldn't be.

By far it was the most fun meal on our trip. I'd go back again even if I hated the food. It was that fun!

We've always had a good meal there. I love the fried chicken, and DH usually gets the meatloaf. Just good home-style cooking.

We LOVE 50' Prime time!!!!!
None of us have ever had a complaint with the food. The Pot Roast is WONDERFUL!!! Fried Chicken is supreme and there is a grilled chicken sandwich that is to die for! Add to that the awesome theming and how much fun the servers make it, and it is one of our never-miss things to do.

have fun whatever you decide:cheer2:

The pot roast is to die for. The fried chicken is great. And according to my mother the Glazed salmon was really good.
But be sure to finished ALL your veggies so that u can have dessert.:woohoo:

IMHO the food is alright and your server can make or break the overall 'experience'. Will we eat there again? Yes if we have no other plans and there is availability but I'm not going to go out of my way and make ADRs six months out.

We ate here 3 weeks ago and really enjoyed it all. We are 3 adults. Our server had just the right amount of interaction, he was not overboard but fun with us. I think he clearly could "read" his guests.
The food was very good. I had the Fried Chicken and it was great DS also had the Fried Chicken and he enjoyed it also. DH had the Pot Roast and it looked like he licked his plate clean, he Loved it!! DH had the huge sunday for disert and enjoyed it very much. DS and I had Vanilla Shakes and they were out of this world perfect.
I would definitly return for both the atmosphere and the food.

Ate there in September and we loved it and will return. I wasn't sure I wanted to go, but was very glad we did.

Below is Pot Roast, Meatloaf, Appetizers and Brownie Sundae dessert :)

We LOVED 50s Prime Time Cafe! The Pot Roast is awesome!!

I have a lot of photos in my 50sPT review, link is in my signature :)

The food is YUMMY! I too vote for the pot roast. Ask for a fun "Aunt" or "Uncle". Last time we were there, I spilled my "glow"tini and my Auntie brought me a refill.....in a sippie cup!

Seeing the fried herb cheese reminds me - I didn't like it! It was heavily breaded and had an odd flavor. The fruit that came with it was fantastic though. :goodvibes

We ate there 8 years ago, and I remember that the fried chicken was AWESOME! We have ADR for here next week and that is my planned meal again....it was just so good! I can't wait! I am also anxious to see how my kids will react at this rest. being told to "clean their plate" etc. I AM SO EXCITED TO LEAVE SUNDAY, CAN YOU TELL?

we were a party of six back in late august... the place was crowded and we were jammed in a corner... our "aunt" was an absolute dud and the food was equally "duddy"... to say we were under-impressed is an understatement... our meal at mama melroses was 200 times better as was the wait staff and the roaming entertainers... we likely won't go back to primetime for the food nor the "experience" :(

We eat there almost every trip but the last one (in June) was our third and final disappointment. I'm not that fond of "homestyle family food" but the rest of my family is. We always went there for the atmosphere but our last three experiences have been really disappointing. So, it's fallen victim to my "three strikes" rule and will be shelved for now.

Wow! Thanks for the replies everyone. Lots of recommendations for the fried chicken which should make my mom happy :) Thanks so much for the pictures HopperFan. I made pot roast for dinner last night and I was telling dh how good I thought it was ...but their pot roast makes my mine look like it came out of a can or something :sad2: I will definitely be trying that.
Sorry to all who had a not so great experience/dinner. Hopefully it was an off night.

I am really hoping to get a great server that will pick on dh My boys would love it.

Ate there in September and we loved it and will return. I wasn't sure I wanted to go, but was very glad we did.

Appetizers

That fried cheese appetizer is just YUM! The salmon was really good last trip, but after seeing the picture of the pot-roast I just might have to try that. (One month from yesterday and we'll be there! :thumbsup2 )

My DH and I ate there last October on our Disneymoon. I had been to Disney several times, but this was my first time eating there. The atmosphere was wonderful. I had the onion rings (a little greasy for my tastes), grilled chicken with root veggies (I really liked this), and smores dessert (yum-o). My DH had the herb cheese (we also really liked this), fried chicked (he thought this was great), and dads sundae (delicious). Actually my favorite was my drink- a non-alcoholic blackberry sprite. I could have drank 100 of these. Here is a pics from dinner (and us reading the dessert menu aka the view finder).

I have a friend who just LOVES the smores dessert and this place. We're going with her next trip and that's all she talks about when I mention this restaurant. We, of course, have ADRs for the day we arrive. I can't wait.
